Not ideal for stock suspension. It may work as some have run 18x9.5+38 on springs, but will poke quite a bit since you have no drop and no camber to pull the top of the wheel in.

Suggest getting springs or coils first if you go that route. Suggested tire is fine for that wheel size.

I just think we got shafted with the bolt pattern. Every time I see a set I really like 18x8 to 18x8.5. Then there is that damn 5x114.3 looking back at me.

Agree they really didn't cater to our cars in this offering, it's fairly limited really.

Prior to the release of the BRZ and FRS,

only the Impreza WRx, Forester and Legacy, Toyota Celica and CT200h has 5x100.

That's a very small portion of the market to make 5x100 wheels.

But since the release of BRZ/FRS, almost every manufacture are releasing 5x100 spec.

However, it's only limited spec due to the very limited application that 5x100 can be use on.

Any advice on getting alignment on the BRZ after getting new wheels and tires?

I need an alignment but know I may need to buy some additional components in order for the alignment shop to be able to adjust camber etc.

Should I just get it aligned or would you recommend buying camber arms or crash bolts prior to getting an alignment?

Currently running:
-18x9.5 +44 square
-5mm spacers all around
-Eibach pro kit springs
- stock struts

Main usage: DD, freeway miles, city driving

Picked up a set of 17x9 +38 offset and will be running 245s, stock suspension right now minus whiteline camber bolts.

First off, wondering just how much poke I will have with about -1.5 camber up front and about -1 rear, as I'm hoping to have as little as possible.

Second, are they're any concerns with rubbing with the fenders with this wheel and tire size?

Finally, how much camber can I look at getting before I'm touching the strut?

I'm planning on RCE yellows in the near future, but am worried about the increase in camber from the springs causing the wheels to touch the strut/spring perch.

I run about 10 to 12 track events a year, so I'm hoping to get the setup dialed in where I can get more camber without worrying about rubbing both the fender edge or spring perch on the struts under high load.

With your Eibachs, you'll probably be around -1.5F,-2R already.
Did you get it aligned after your spring install?

You can get it to -2 in front with $4 crash bolts, but probably not needed unless you're trying to make the wheels fit better. You shouldn't need camber arms unless you're looking to dial it back.

Don't go with more camber than -2 anywhere, you don't need it. I'd say stick closer to -1.5 all around if possible.
1/16" of toe-out on the front and 0 on the rear will make it handle well.

You're going to be pretty flush up front with this wheel setup and -1.5/-1.0 camber. You can probably go with -2 up front before hitting the spring perch.

On a 17" wheel, the closest to the spring perch is the tire sidewall, whereas on an 18" it's the wheelrim itself. You should be fine with a 245 though. You shouldn't have an issue with rubbing, though not sure what alignment you already have. Are you already at -1.5F/-1.0R?

On stock springs, I doubt you'll be able to get much more than -1 up front with camber bolts. Stock is zero camber. I'm not sure on the Whiteline bolts, but factory crash bolts will give an extra .5 to .75 of negative camber.

You will gain much more camber with the springs, since you gain camber with lowering.

This is the following set up I'm thinking of getting:

18x9 +42, 245/35/18, with Eibach Sportline Lowering Springs.

I know the rear will be okay. I'm worry about the front. I know there are some people running 18x9 +42 up front and have a couple of MM of clearance. Will I have any rubbing issue with the springs?

No issues on the rear as you say, but fronts are gonna be too tight, especially with the extra camber from the Sportlines' drop. I only have 3-4mm clearance to the spring perch, and you will be 7mm closer (I'm on 18x9+35).

I only see one fitment of 18x9 +42 on the wheel directory (http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7535) and he's running coilovers, so you may need to run spacers or switch wheel offsets to make it work.

Also, for reference, here's a 18x9 +38, see pics of how close it is to the strut.

Very close but do-able. A few are running 18x9.5+38 and making them work, you have a few extra mm's to play with. If you go with extra camber (other than lowering), you will be very close to the spring perch.

Tires are a good size, OEM diameter.
