Its already been done a couple of times.

There is no "have to." Vendors have hit 500+ hp on a stock block. Build your block, blow it, and you can have as much power as your wallet allows.

In fact I remember seeing several comments of people who have experience with the engine saying it's a better design than the EJ. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Lol have no money, and still want to mod an FRS. people need to wake up. You spend way too much to even FI these 86. You spent money on a new car to spend again ? Common, be real.

I see people here do have it. But seriously, with that much money ? I rather buy a cayman, or something else.

If you can't enjoy a car the way it is, don't buy it. Never talk about modding it, especially when it is new. If you mod an FRS, sure it may beat a corvette for more than the corvette cost, but with a few bolts on, a corvette can smoke you, even worse if he throw money at it, he could smoke la Ferrari. The cycle repeat, at the end, people with the most money win. Remember.

Once a superior car, always a superior car.

Ever heard of Legos? Heathkit? Arduino? They're way more expensive than buying a preassembled package, and also way less fun. It's fun to research, it's also fun to use your own hands and get intimate with.. Wait.. Let me rephrase that.. To learn all about the car. I'm no mechanic but I've now done intake, cat back, springs, sway bars, tunes and more. The best way to learn is take something apart and put it back together. I've never had this much fun with my 350Z. I just got in and drove it, but I always felt I was missing something. To sum it up.. Not everything is logical.

Those you mentioned about are child plays. Modding cars, while swapping brake parts, intake, exhaust are just minor works. It is not expensive. A walmart tool set, and a few jacks.

The op is talking about twin turbo. Do you know the fabrication of it ? The tools and the skill you need ? It is way cheaper to have a shop build it for you, and no...that ain't cheap.

Sorry, maybe I did take it out of context, but...

"If you can't enjoy a car the way it is, don't buy it"

Still not sure about that one.. unless it's restated more specifically "If you can't enjoy a car with the horsepower it came with, don't but it"

Mike

That article was linked to two years ago, it was up to date at the time for the discussion at hand.

This thread is from 2011 FYI.
