Yup, definitely not there....

Parking lights are going to take some hours to fix for sure. Lot's of sanding to do on this as well. The area around the headlights that seat into the brackets will need to be trimmed too.

APR GT Bumper

Sanded and ready to repair some holes around the parking lights. Now that the finish is smooth I can see little dimples here and there that need to be filled as well. I'm probably another 8 hours of work to paint ready at this point. Have 3 hours invested so far.

I'm not going to screw with making a spot for the side markers. Not legal but whatever, if you run smoked or clear it's not legal anyway. It'll look nice and clean without them.

Over the last 4 nights I put roughly 2 hours in per night and have it paint ready with the holes and gaps around the parking lights fixed. I only wet sanded down to a 400 grit since it will be plastidipped. I might bond the groove around the tow hook hole tomorrow since it is so off center. Another thing I'm kicking around is just fiberglassing over the entire parking light spot and only leaving the brake ducts. The Spyder headlights could take over the parking light function if I pull the trigger on those, just don't know yet. Anyway, progress pictures.

Impeccable quality on the part of APR. Truly a magnificent masterpiece of plug and play holiness. I bow down to the APR god who molded this beauty. There are no words.. no words to describe the rainbow of love I see embedded into this bumper. I have been humbled. I cease..

Digital is doing work! I am looking forward to seeing some pre-paint photos of the finished work, especially what you end up doing with the lighting areas.

I've invested 13 hours of my time so far. A body shop would have easily charged a grand or more to get it to this level.

Fyi, I think a guy named Alonso either molded it or signed off on QC. When I was sanding off the inconsistent surface the area under the passenger headlight I found "Alonso" written underneath the gel coat.

I was contacted by another forum member @Fonzie517 who just got the bumper and has the same problem with no side markers and I believe was told the same thing as you Evan.

wow that bumper looks like some kid made it during recess in a lunchables mold and put it up on craiglist after school at his babysitters house.

wtf?!

No thanks.

I dipped the bumper over the weekend. Looks good. Went to snap in the grille and guess what... didn't fit. More filing was needed to make it go not the tabs. I'm going to hold off on final fit up until my S/C is installed. The tabs seem brittle in spots so less on/off is better here for sure.

I sure hope this was a fluke and not indicative of all the bumpers that are shipped. It's a lot of work to get it to where I'm at now and the grille kind of pissed me off. I'm not convinced it will stay in place so we'll see how it goes. I could always epoxy the tabs to lock it in but until final fitment is done this isn't an option.

Filled in the groove around the tow hook hole since it was so off center

Primed it black so I was starting with the same base color for Plasti Dip application.

It's Koi Orange!

And tried two tone with dip for the first time. Came out great!

Here's my less than idea work space

props to you man I'd have thrown that thing away a long time ago and sent an explicitly verbose email to the manufacturer.

That's what @tech4pdx did only the trash receptacle happened to be me. I would have never paid a dime for this thing. APR should not be telling people it's paint ready and that it has side marker provisions. I've heard from multiple people that they were told this. Once you get it in hand it would also cost around $150 (guess) to ship back to them.
