I may still buy them. But a little worried how their are waiting on customers to post results of their own product.
it just means it's not their product and they simply resell some offshore (primarily chinese) headers. doesn't mean it's bad (or good either) unless you're one of those folks thinking that all chinese is junk but still buy iphones.
see if any of these is what you're thinking of buying:

So uh, when are you buying that header so I can buy one too when it turns out to be awesome?

The catted ones look quite a bit like ebay headers sold as KLS here in Aus. Company importing them has them on their shop car (with a Cusco supercharger).

With the HKS one costing $1500 this seemed worthwhile gamble to me, so I've got one in the shed waiting to go on. Quality looks quite good at first glance but I haven't had much time to have a look at them. Will put it on soon but don't see a dyno in the near future as I'm still waiting/deciding on tuning options in Australia.

They have a pretty poor quality video of the sound with the headerback exhaust they also sell under the same brand (google: kls 86 999 build).

I really like that sound....it's so hard to find EL headers Hoping someone here pulls the trigger on a set from somewhere we can purchase from in the US.

I purchased one of the eBay XSPower headers. I'll let you know how it goes.

The reason I took the risk is because I really wanted something similar to the stock header but with larger diameter pipes and a higher flowing cat. This appears to fit the bill. If you look at the stock header and compare it to the XSPower you'll notice the pipe layout is almost exactly the same down to the location of the flex sections.

The header will be paired with my perrin over pipe, catted front pipe, resonated catback, and intercooled innovate supercharger. Wish me luck.

In addition to larger diameter, the pipes should be mandrel bent, increasing the internal volume through the curves in the pipe. The stock manifold is not mandrel bent, which is the main reason for why it's so restrictive.

If the thing rusts out and falls apart, supposedly there's a warranty. Also for the price, you could just buy a new one. My only real concern with that header would be the cat, who knows what that thing is made of? Haha

Are you really sure about that? You don't think having a dense cat fitted to it is the main restriction? C'mon.

Heh, you're probably right, but I'm not sure the cat on the eBay header is going to flow much better than the stock one.

Some food for thought though: I've been talking to a couple reputable muffler shops around me to see about fabbing up an exhaust for when I buy a header. I figure I may as well just get it all done at once. I suggested replacing my cats with high-flow parts, and both guys on the phone seem to believe that stock cats these days aren't nearly the restriction that everyone makes them out to be and that I shouldn't bother.

That said, adding that restriction so close to the block may be a different story entirely. I'm fairly certain these guys aren't terribly familiar with the 86 and where its exhaust components reside, so maybe they'd change their tune when they actually laid eyes on the layout. I still like the idea of maintaining a cat in the header just for O2 sensor compatibility and not having to worry about it.

On a different note, do you know of anyone removing the cat from the stock header and replacing it with a straight pipe? Has that been done?

I wouldn't touch a 'high flow cat' unless you're going to spend the money on a proper metal one, instead of the cheap ceramic crap which most people fit.

I installed the XSPower header today and I'm very impressed. Much higher quality than I was expecting. With the stock header my innovate supercharged fr-s felt a bit like it couldn't breathe. Adding this header has made that choking feeling go away and the car feels much smoother now. Not to mention, the header didn't add too much additional noise paired with my perrin overrpipe, catted front pipe, and resonated catback. It does sound different though, in a good way, but it is not much louder. Totally worth the money.
