The thing that bothers me is that people are saying somehow it's morally superior for this guy to lie down and take the license revocation when it's going to cost him his job as well. How would that be a smart decision on his part?

It's really easy to judge someone on the internet without giving it a lot of thought as is clearly apparent in this thread. And apparently I'm an asshole because I fought the only ticket I've received in 5 years. Thanks internet, learning all sorts of things about myself I didn't know before.

At this point, I don't think he even has a choice. Unfortunately for him, history repeated itself under 2 weeks.

Bottom line is, you're a retard that isn't even worth trying to explain things to, because you are so stupid you will never, ever get it, no matter what. You've already decided what you think to be true and as such will not change that regardless of how wrong you actually are.
A retard? Really? What decade were you born into?

Is 150km/h REALLY excessive speeding when the flow of traffic is doing 140km/h? IMO excessive speeding should be based on your speed relative to the other cars on the road. Doing 120km/h when everyone else is going 90km/h is far more dangerous than doing 150km/h when everyone else is going 140km/h.
Any trained accident investigator or accident analyst knows that speeding does not cause accidents.

Its the CHANGE in speed that does.

Not an athiest but I don't pray.

Since you seem to know I do though, do tell me when, where and to whom I pray?

Driving a sports car and not speeding is like dating a very hot chick and no sex. On the serious side, excessive speeding in any public road is dangerous!

I think its the accident that causes the change in speed but, point taken nonetheless.

I suppose, pedantically, the change in speed IS the accident.

It isn't actually. Police drive on public roads at very high speeds frequently, and not always with lights or siren active.

Driving at a speed inappropriate for conditions is always dangerous.

What speed is that?

It depends.

Speeding offences are created to make it easy to prosecute for dangerous driving. Trouble is, the authorities now try to convince you that speeding IS dangerous driving, and it just isn't.
