I really think the Honda Accord Coupes should've been RWD.
Especially this sexy coupe

On topic: The eclipse is one of those cars that should have been RWD, along with pretty much every front drive car that isn't a hot hatch. I spent my childhood sideways and covered in mud/snow, and as such shun any FWD abominations. |

I have yet to drive a Porsche equipped with either PDK or electric power steering, so I don't yet have an opinion on either. I suspect I won't like them though.

I drove an NC Miata before buying the 86, I think I can feel the difference where the Miata's hydraulic system has a bit of squish the 86 has a 'step' feel to it, kind of digital, but when you're turning in on the limit or cruising down the highway or even making a right hand turn into the parking lot it's the last thing on your mind. ![]() No comment on the PDK, I don't think I'd like it either, but if you're wishing for the best of automatic with the best of manual it definitely makes sense, aside from the fun/nostalgia factor. |

One thing I did notice when sitting in some 991s at a dealer was that turning the steering wheel with the car off, the steering column is VERY stiff compared to a hydraulic rack where the wheel has a lot of play when unpowered. Didn't occur to me before but in theory this means you should be able to get very close to a manual rack if tuned right.
Unfortunately, Porsche has a factory option called "Power Steering Plus" for people who think the steering wheel (with assist!) is too heavy at low speeds and need extra help. Even though assist is supposed to go down to normal levels at speed, I can't help but wonder if this influences the response. |

). Not even borla cat back/K&N short ram/KLZE throttle body could make it "quick" with that slush box. It did sound pretty good though.

I noticed that no one mentioned the MK1 Ford Focus ZX3.
It's been done plenty of times in the UK but I still enjoy seeing examples of successful swaps. The most popular/cheapest method is to swap the floorpan of a Ford Sierra, sometimes even a Sierra Cosworth. For those that like V8s, we have those. But they're much more expensive. |

I too clicked on this immediately thinking 5G Prelude, mostly because I have one (and love it) and I too wish it were RWD. The lines, the proportions, it wouldn't be too terribly hard to do (relatively) and therefore I will do it one day. S2000 Transmission mated to a 3.5 or 3.7L V6 making roughly 315HP, yes please. That sucker would fly and handle with the best of them!
