Well, the Ecutek cables have not come in just yet. LJ is telling me they will be in anyday. So, I still can't tell you about my E85 experience. But the car is still running good. The only thing that has really popped up is I finally have a CEL light.

Now I say finally cause I have never taken my car to a tuner without something small coming up afterwords. Hey its part of the game and learning process. Now usually it something very small and is never a problem once fixed , but it could be a big problem and I have only had that issue once.

Fortunately for me this problem is very very small. I mention it for two reasons: 1)cause it happened and it shows an accurate picture of my experience for all you soon to be boosted guys and gals. 2) To also show how a tuner should handle things that come up.

In short the CEL is for an evaporation sensor ( please understand I am not an auto expert) that FBM removes. Usually LJ just disables the code that can be triggered by this sender unit. He missed a code. Now at first we didn't know what it was. However, LJ didn't run from the problem. He attacked it and actually was more interested in fixing than I was at first. He has pride, and I could sense that he was troubled that I had a mild problem. In short after we spent several emails discussing what the issue was and finally realizing it was simply a CEL code that they forgot to disable, he said he could walk me thru the process over the phone. Great. Then he tells me that the evap hose that is tucked away not going anywhere (cause the sensor is removed) is usually what people attach to a possible catch can. Cool beans, more knowledge for me. I ran a catch can on my BMW 135i cause when heavily boosted they need them. LJ, says when running E85 a catch can really makes sense because of all the extra moisture. Well well well, I am about to run E85 99% of the time. So I realize I should buy a catch can. Well I am ordering one this morning. It is a wise decision to help the longevity of my car.

So in short. LJ and FBM did everything right when a problem came up. Keep in mind this hasn't affected the car in the slightest. In fact it turns out that it helped me realize I need a catch can. So I just wanted to share.

To compare to my past experiences, this was the easiest issue( a false cel light) I have ever dealt with after I heavily modding a car. The best thing was I got to see how LJ handled it. I have not doubt he will have my back if anything ever comes up.

I know this post is long, but I wanted to share and paint the picture correctly.
Thanks LJ

Well I got my Ecutek cable today. LJ gave me a crash course in logging and how to change maps. So basically i am set to try my E85 map. Only problem is i have over a half tank of 91 left. So i will do my best to burn that fuel off tomorrow so i can finally see what 400+whp is like on a FA20. Anyways, I will report back once i have more to tell.

Isn't that a really high PSI for a 12.5:1 compression ratio? or did you change the piston CR?

15psi for E85. A year ago i might have said yes, but i believe that 15psi now is not fairly standard for E85 maybe even a little low compared to others.
