Uninstall the turbo kit as much as necessary to effectively go back to a stock intake and no FI. That means replacing the stock intake tract and venting the turbo to atmosphere. Then flash back to stock. If the issues are gone, you know the problem is probably with the kit. If the issues aren't gone, you know the problem is with the car, but you will have to remove everything anyway to solve it. If the problems are with the kit, yell at Avo. If they're with the car, yell at Subaru.

I'm using one of John's tunes.

Sorry to hear that dude. Did you end up getting your car fixed or did you part out your set up?

I'm still deciding on what to do. Gonna call the dealer today and see if anything comes from that.

My car isn't sold. Dave, don't say something if you don't know man.

The DTC/Idle stall issues continued until the car wasn't drivable. The kit is now off the car and I'm trying to iron out the DTC issues still. Just had some more OCV valves replaced but I think the ECU still needs replacing. Still on the original ECU.

@Lammie I'd be interested in hearing how things are going now. Did you find the problem?

@vubaru So I take it Scion are still playing with you despite knowing the car had a turbo fitted. That's good news.

Holly Forum disappearance Batman!!

Also, I said the car was sold because well... below is your last post on the site before yesterday, posted 06-28-2013, 05:55 PM:

The dealer reports that the OCV that failed has a pulley that is not operating correctly and needs replacemenet, but it is under the valve cover and access is blocked by turbo hardware (I believe is is blocked by lines but I'm not 100% sure on the location yet.) So the dealer says I need to have the turbo kit uninstalled for them to warranty the car.

As I don't have the funds to uninstall and reinstall turbo kits ad infinitum, I'm going to have WORKS uninstall the kit, part it out, part out the car, and trade it in.

It's been fun! If anyone wants a slightly used AVO turbo kit, full engine back exhaust in good condition, VOLK TE37SL's in mag blue/staggered fitment, etc., send me a PM!

Looks like I will be trading the car in once it is back in stock form and warrantied, probably for a STi.

Mark

She started missfiring and stalling when coming to stops. (P000B, P000D, P0017, P0019, and a P03xxx (only showed up once))

We tried moving the CVs around as per the TSB but it didn't help. I also tried changing the tune hoping that it might be that, but that didn't change anything either. Thanks Paul for supplying me with an up to date tune.

I asked 2 dealers here about the TSB and what they would do to try and fix the issue. Their response was that there was no TSB in Canada and that they would look into it step by step as any other car. I eventually just asked them to replace the ECU and hoped that it would fix the issue. After the ECU was swapped and my keys re-programmed, she stalled coming off the lot. Although there was no cam shaft slow response time (P000B/D), so I hope that the new settings from subaru fixed that issue, the cam shaft out of position code (P00017, P0019) was still there.

I have a stint in Argentina starting next year, so I decided to park her until I came back. Winter is coming...

My next plan of attack was to ask the dealer to look at the TSB related to shimming the cam sensor and see if she needed that, and if that didn't work proceed to changing the CVs and cam assembly.

Subaru was willing to replace more OCV's which weren't replaced before. Livermore Subaru did one side; Diablo Subaru did the other. Whether they are willing to replace the ECU if I still have problems going forward is another story. I wouldn't take that bet.

At this point, car is stock with the Milltek exhaust and AVO panel filter, stock tune. I am not throwing any DTC's or CEL's, but let's see how things go for a week or two.
