The relay is much easier to install next to the control box in the engine compartment. That's why we are looking there for a power source.

I like this idea as well. Plus the relay would be in a dry spot.

Aren't those wires just the ones that go from the control box to the voltage display?

Yes, that's the one. Damm acronyms.

The advantage of using the switched lighter is that you wont need to pass the relay through the firewall opening. I'm thinking that I like that location too. But from a manufacturing standpoint, close to the connector is easier.

But I'm showing voltage there with the ignition off.

- 12V+ switched on headlight socket when car running and DRL? Some cars run lower voltage ~4v during DRL.
- you could run a single 20-24Awg ~ 6'-7' from the relay following my harness back to the glove box switched socket(hard wired), ground in engine bay.

Both these sources are fused lines/ and the relay is low current signal.

Yeah I think this is easiest. and we can run the wire through the loom.

Can't be. How can you have both sides of a fuse circuit hot? I just double checked it, it's switched.

What's the weight of this kit I've looked and haven't seen anything yet.

Considering that it adds half a turbocharger, a small electric motor and a couple of not too large batteries, the relevant answer to that question is: a hell of a lot less than any other supercharging system.

The added weight is from the batteries. I went with a bigger starter battery so I guess the added weight is about 20 lbs. The actual compressor weighs very little.

Yeap, 99.99% this would work.
But I wouldn't have the relay so far away from the control box.
A small gauge wire to feed the switching through the sound tube hole = money.

I don't know why circuit #28 can have both sides with a 12v reading but that is what I am getting. Sojhinn got the same reading but his post is gone. Don't know why.

Compressor ~4 lbs
Control/charger module ~ 2lbs
All cables/harness ~ 1lb
Battery swap (stock 29.6 lbs) (using 21Ahr or PC-680 as starter and 24V dump pack 37.8 lbs) + 8.2 lbs
removing snorkel & resonator ~ - 0.5lbs?

= 15 lbs.

Rob.
