Wow that's a poor way to address someone who had a legitimate observation. He posts that he saw you guys swapping belts at the shootout, you attack him, then explain that you were indeed swapping belts at said event.

Seems like a poor way to showcase a product, especially given how many vendors have recently been treating forum members like crap and screwing people over.

KW treats its customers and enthusiasts just fine...but MARTIN82 is not that. he IS A TROLL...he has ONE POST and that was what he chose to talk about this? its a Hit and Run post presented as 'KW had problems but i just also happend to notice JR never had problems'... pretty sure he is from the JR camp as we know who came by and didnt comeby the KW pit on the track day. also, he just happened to be at both track days...what a coincidence. also, after the event OJ texted KW techs multiple times trying to jab at 'belt issues'.

but even though MARTIN82 is troll, i still addressed his observation offering a level of transparency that i know is appreciated by enthusiasts.

nonetheless, sorry for getting fired up. i meant no offense to well meaning enthusiasts; if MARTIN82 is such, i offer my deepest apologies.

I am not convinced we need kraftwerks and jackson on this forum with all the petty bickering.

anyways...since you brought this up, let me respond for the sake of transparency and for the benefit of enthusiasts so this pre-production issue doesnt fester and turn into a problem in peoples minds.

first of all...KW would never release a kit that shredded belts...the very implication is asinine and wreaks of troll-desperation.

now to address your observation....yes, we did shred belts at the tuner shootout event. here is why...one of our techs put a NEW PROTOTYPE PRE-PRODUCTION PULLEY FOR THAT EVENT without checking the belt engagement. the drawing we had sent out to our prototype manufacturing partner had two less teeth in the drawing than what was spec'd. so as an example, instead of 38 teeth spec'd, it only had 36 teeth as built...what resulted is the belt only engaged 3 teeth and then would ride on top of the other teeth and consequently that pulley shredded belts in spectacular fashion after about 6 laps at that event. at the event we were puzzled as to why this was happening because the car had hundreds of dyno passes and numerous miles on the street with no issue....furthermore the BRZ uses the same belt drive system as the S2000 kit which never had these types of belt problems in long term durability testing.
since discovering this issue on that track day, we have tossed that prototype pulley in the trash, had a corrected pulley made, installed it, ran it, tested it with no issue at all. in the meantime we were testing other pulley configurations with absolutely no issues at all.

if this post does not adequately address MARTIN82's observation, we welcome enthusiasts to come down and check the system out for themselves...if the car is not on the dyno or apart, we would gladly give you a ride and possibly even let you drive it.
I'll take you up on that offer.

I'll be at SoWS 11/2, ACS 11/9, WSIR 11/16-17, ACS 11/23-24, and SoWS 11/30-12/1. I'm sure I can squeeze in a few laps in your car on one of those days.

Just skip the KW and JR threads...that way your neighborhood watch commander instincts won't kick in. I wouldn't want to get zimmerman'd on this forum .... Just kiddings!!!! *big hug*

Man, you need to leave the past in the past. Take a higher road and all of that. If you want to beat JR, sell your kit with the larger compressor, spinning enough to make the power you're claiming here, and sell upgrade packages with injectors, pulleys, and a blow off valve. The market is nearly saturated with FI options as it is. If yours has a direct and relatively cheap upgrade path I'd bet you'll gain a much larger share of the market.

Point taken and agreed. Thank you for the advice

I love seeing new products to this platform, but this bickering like Hatfield and McCoy takes away from the enjoyment of researching into the product. I can see there are some post that can be hard to hold back and be professional, but it makes me shy away from or give me warning signs to deal with a company or not. I haven't dealt with JR or KW or any other company as I've been driving different type of car... but reliability, performance, and customer service for me is not mutually exclusive.

Calum made the best suggestion... would be cool if the information and facts was the focus instead of the arguments/venting. So far everyone claims to be going to be CARB approval... but haven't seen anything from anyone yet that is CARB approved.

Would be great to see 250WHP+ on 91 pump gas that's reliable, easy to install, and cost less than the competitors.

Hope to see more facts coming out...thank you for all the information so far.

I agree with the above post. I've been watching all FI threads since I became a part of this forum, I've set my mind on a supercharger after months of back and forth over the pros and cons (super vs turbo) and now I've started to settle on either this KW Kit or Vortech. The back and forth between KW and Jackson is unnecessary. Let your product's efficiency, performance and customer service speak for your company. Vortech is now CARB legal after months of going through the approval process, and also had their fair share of hiccups. Every FI product has its issues in one way or another and will not please everyone depending on what the customer wants out of it.
That being said. I'm still very much interested in KW's unique set-up for this platform and I look forward to more information on this product as I and many others in this forum appreciate another choice among choices.

Pardon my ignorance, why is the torque curve so "linear" for lack of a better term? Is that a property of the rotrex blower?
That's a property of any centrifugal blower. Boost rises in linear fashion, so the torque curve does too. There are dyno charts out there showing the Vortech rising all the way to redline as well.

All good, just hoping this thread stays on topic so we can get some good discussion as more info rolls out.

If the supercharger reach his max rpm (100k rpm) at the 7450 engine rpm, Do we have some chance to break the compressor if our max rpm is set to 8000?
