If you don't have a stylus, you can use a ballpoint pen but press very gently to avoid scratching the screen.
Update: this worked perfectly. And then I finally updated the program, flashed ecu.
No more issues.

The tune is great, most noticeable to me was the mid range rpm improvement
Can't wait for stage 2 and bolt my borla uel header on
I guess you also recommend popping off the stock front snorkel at the same time?

Does the computer I use to write files to the tablet need to be online while I am writing to the tablet?

Which snorkel/duct are you referring to? This?
http://imageshack.us/scaled/large/34/sv0y.jpg

And what is the reason/benefit for removing the snorkel/duct?

That's a resonator. The snorkel feeds the airfilter box from the front.

Shiv do you think there are 'country-specific' ROM versions for these cars? If there is such a thing, then would there be any risks for Aus market cars running your tunes?

If that's a concern, I believe Shiv has offered to look over the ROM file if you just use the OFT to read your ECU and email it to him.

So unless you need underbood bling, it really makes most sense to stick with the stock airbox (with a decent panel filter). I ended up removing the airraid intake on my car and went back to the stock box
Does that include tunes with the stock box and a drop in air filter like a K&N? Just curious, cause that's all I have done to my car right now, and will likely be purchasing an OFT next month.

Just picked this up over the weekend at 86 Fiesta, running only the K&N drop-in filter with Works AB-R exhaust. You can definitely feel a difference, car feels so much more alive now.
Thanks @shiv@vishnu for getting my car setup!

*edit* I think I'll be removing the snorkel/duct you mentioned. Does it make a difference?

Yes I appreciate that he's offering to look over the ROM file, but that means purchasing the OFT first in order to read the stock ROM. Hence my question about the possibility of country-specific versions and whether he thinks there's going to be any risks/issues or not....as I'd like to be sure before I commit to any purchase

I understand your situation. . pretty much a catch 22. Unless someone else in Australia has already purchased the OFT and pulled ROM files to send over, your only options would require you to be the first to do that or to just use the OFT to read your ROM and then get it locally tuned.

I have ordered OFT and will post my experience as soon as I finally get it. It is still stuck in a post office somewhere in HK.

Here's my email to them and their reply.

Just to clarify.
It's the map I'm wondering about. Our 86's and BRZ's have probably
got the same ECU settings as yours in the US but if there is a difference
then that might cause problems if say it's related to RHD instead of LHD
or differences in the car's hardware?
I'm assuming the map that is flashed to the car is a complete US modified
version?

No ecu and rom file are exactly the same between FRS/BRZ in the US. The same ROM file will also work with jdm ft86, its the same ROM. Looks the same. RHD and LHD works the same. No difference there. US and JDM version doesn't matter they work the same. I have sold a OFT to Japan and its works.

Indeed it is. Yes getting the OFT and then having it tuned locally would be an option, but so far I've contacted 3 local tuners....the first 2 would only sell and tune using ecutek. The 3rd place I called offered to dyno tune using brzedit (for only about $100 more than the OFT in fact) but although he's tuned countless other wrx's before, he's only tuned maybe a couple of 86's so far. Doesn't really inspire confidence in me....or maybe it shouldn't really matter...

Edit: Just saw your post Sierra....thanks for that.
