Also strangely it wants to calibrate its screen every time I connect to anything

@shiv is there a way I can start over?
If the OFT is stuck in a endless calibration request loop, it's because you are probably using your fingers which, if they are like mine, are too dull for calibration purposes. To sort things out, just plug the OFT into your car (unplug from laptop first) and use a stylus to calibrate. That should sort it out. If you don't have a stylus, you can use a ballpoint pen but press very gently to avoid scratching the screen.

Does not seem to be stuck endlessly
I will try it with my note2 stylus.
Does the rest of that sound right?

EDIT:apparently it was stuck on calibration screen
Now it wants me to update openflash, I can't do that here.
Will have to try from work tomorrow morning, Thanks for getting me one step closer though

Is this an appropriate place to ask for support?

I got my OFT last week. It successfully did the read from my car. Then I tried to use the SW on win8 and got a bunch of checksum errors (I had installed the patch). The SW worked much better on a win7 machine but now any time I plug it in and press tune it says "Tuning file mismatching. ECU write denied." I'd like to start over and just use Win7. Any advice?

Sounds like you loaded an incompatible file on to your OFT. The good news is that the OFT pre-qualifies the file before writing it to your ECU. If it's incompatible, it won't allow the write. To make things easy, I would suggest starting over again on you win7 laptop since you say the software works better. Just delete the tune file you loaded on to the laptop and reload them. Make sure you see the window saying that "checksum has been corrected" after selecting the file to load. After that, you should be good to go. If you still have any questions, feel free to call us up tomorrow during work hours and the guys can walk you through the process step by step over the phone.

Cheers,
Shiv

Even when I have no files on the OFT it still shows that message "Tuning file mismatching. ECU write denied.". I think maybe my original file is corrupt? Is there a way to delete that and start totally fresh? I can't seem to remove it from the OFT.

Thanks!

Yes, you can erase the entire OFT an start over from scratch. Just to confirm, you haven't flashed the ECU yet? You just did the read, correct?

Yes, I'd only done a read. I tried an erase (seemed to do something). Tried in the car to do a read again but when I click the tuning tab I get the same message. Now in the SW when I go to download or upload it says IDS_PRESENT under original file as if it was not erased. The erase button is grayed out so I cannot erase again. When I go to the backup screen is says the device has never been used.

I very much appreciate your time, my work hours coincide with the shops so calling for support during the week is hard for me.

I tried everything but I can't edit the launch control tables without TunerPro crashing.

I open the stock intake file, go to the "Launch Control RPM Delta" table, change its value, commit the changes, then save the .bin file as a new file. I can open that new file just fine, but if I try to edit the "Launch Control RPM Delta" table again, the program crashes.

I've tried it multiple times, reinstalled the program, ran the patch, but it still crashes every time. Any help?

Make sure you are running the newest version (v5.00.8200) of Tuner Pro. It can be downloaded HERE.

Earlier versions had a bug causing software crashing when editing 32 bit data. The newest update fixes that

Could this be an I/O problem on the disk maybe or even the file that was downloaded was written to disk with errors? Not sure, if you're on windows 8 it could be the new kernel it's using that's causing this problem. Just throwing possibilities out there.
