By the look of how that thing is cut, you have now made it crumple in a away it was not designed too.

I guess with the washer bottle delete would it completely remove it... could you put a smaller one in its place?.. I guess that would be an option.

i would run a remote washer bottle before i cut crash beam

It sounds like you need to go into the Innovative Supercharger thread.

Well that's an issue then... =S

Damn. And I really wanted this kit too. I guess I'll wait and see if a smaller washer bottle is an option.

Cheers for the info.

Ahhaha why? I Dont like superchargers.

I've seen plently turbo kits not need to cut the beam.

well this isn't one of them..

the solution is to cut the beam and box in whats removed with a tube or beam...

or just remove the beam entirely, after all these kits are not approved for "on road use"

The funny thing is we can get them engineered approved that will allow us to run them on the street.

Yes it appears its one of the kits that requires a beam cut. Didn't know this till now.

Are you guys fXXing crazy ... that has to be the stupidest design I have every seen for an intercooler!

What were they thinking ... lets reduce the weight by cutting off some needless safety stuff since we are adding the weight of an intercooler?!?

yikkes

FA20Club Turbo Kit Owners Topic

This thread isn't the one for you to complain about the design of the kit. This is an owners thread which means, we already have it and it wasn't a deal breaker for us so your complaints fall on deaf ears here.

@FA20Club.com doesn't follow this thread as it's not their own. If you want to give feedback or have questions about the design then go to their thread to do so: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=34291

Lastly, the entire crash beam is not being cut. You notch out the back of the crash bar to allow enough clearance for a coupler. The front of the crash bar is still completely in-tact. The inside of the crash beam is hollow to begin with. Some people are giving the impression that the end of the world is near because you notched a 3 inch section on the back of a beam that isn't made of solid steel.

At the end of the day if this is a deal breaker for you, there are other kits available. Your wagon isn't hitched to something you haven't bought.

Actually genius, its pretty smart. As Toni described his reasons for shortening the pipes in V2 of his kit resulted in significantly reduced spool times since most people are purchasing it with a journal bearing turbo which is slower in comparison to BB turbos wrt spool times.

It has nothing to do with weight saving although shorter pipes do save prob a few pounds in weight.
