Clutch Master FX400 Disengagement issues?

Just picked up a FX400 full face 8 puck clutch for my fr-s and apparently its having disengagement issues. Anyone have any similar experience with this issue? Has trouble with the shifter as well when trying to put it in gears...especially first and second gear and the engagement point is extremely low and sometimes it just dosnt wanna disengage.

Installers said they did everything correctly and brought this problem to my attention before I was even able to try it out and said I should bring it back and replace it.

Figured i'd put it in this section since most people who own the FX400 are boosted

Adjust the Clutch pedal to engage higher.

DIY - Easy clutch grab adjustment (~10 mins)

You're welcome..

If the clutch disk isn't perfectly flat or is warped, it'll do as you have described.

Mine did the same thing when I first installed it. I adjusted the pedal and that helped a bit but it's still dragging slightly. I didn't know the fx400 was organic?

Had a 2000 celica that had the same problem. It was fixed by adjusting the height it engages and bleeding the clutch. I have 7k miles on my FX400 with no problems so far.

Oops meant the full face one! So your you can feel the resistance when trying to push the shifter into first and second? Just feels like it's locked out even when clutch is all the way down.

Did you also have trouble putting into first or second gear where there's resistance?

Did they open the hydraulic system in the process of installing the clutch or did they unbolt the clutch slave cylinder from the transmission?

It's possible it could be the hydraulics like King Tut mentioned if they messed with it (that was my first thought). But if the issue is mainly felt when engaging and disengaging the shifter especially in 1st and 2nd gear, it could simply be an issue with the alignment of the Reverse Lockout Plate.

Great point. I hadn't thought about that.

exremely old thread.

But did any of you who have had issues able to resolve it?

I have been debating between ACT HDD 6 puck sprung with Prolite Flywheel and CM FX400.
