If your an extra from Fast a Furious or are on the track every weekend... I really think you need to spend the $$$ to buy a proper tested intake because they make intakes for that purpose. I modified mine to reduce the weight and clean up my engine bay. I really don't think the OEM design was "cold air" intake to begin with. With intake snorkel inlet sitting near the radiator. I also don't think I mentioned anything about it being louder? Or the MAF sensor going crazy. I have no proof my deletion is making power, but I'm almost sure it's not loosing any power also. If your theory is correct I'm sure HKS would be getting letters from angry customer all day long.

Do u think if I used my unichip instead of the aem module. Would I still be able to stay away from the cel

Some forums have strict no-necromancy rules, others require bumping a thread if its the same topic.

I'm not sure which one FT86 is yet, but this forum hasn't existed that long so bumping a relevant thread from only a year ago shouldn't be an issue like if you bump a 10 year old thread for no reason on an older forum...

Probably. Ask unichip I remember watching their install video and they had the AEM intake on theirs. If they say you dont have to use it then dont.

Slight bump. I'm seeing a lot of hate for the intakes both here and in the Dsport thread, but I'm not seeing if any of the cars are tuned for the intakes. If I do what I want to do, I'm planning a full engine back exhaust system and was going to add an intake to the mix for a little extra gain and sound, but all this negativity bothers me a bit. Are drop-ins still that much better than intakes, even with a tune?

Best intake is your stock one. Remove all resonators and shorten the snorkel. Sounds very nice ! Save money and buy an openflash tablet!

I agree that the stock intake and a quality high flow panel filter (like TRD Japan) is better than most.

But I could be tempted into a FA20club one. It's all business. It may not be the prettiest, but it's a fucking air intake, who cares.

The price of some intakes I've seen, you could just get the fa20club one and tape $50 notes around the pipe, if you feel like just throwing money at one so it looks better.
