You joined the forums right around when people were finding out about it. There have been multiple discussions on this many times on a couple of REALLY big threads. I find it hard to believe you have been around here this long and not even notice that thread. I lurk these forums and can even tell you the same information that you trying to say is a bogus claim.

Talk about stubborn. These dyno's are all over the forum. And the INJEN leaning out the car to get gains is old news. Please stop being such a prick just because multiple members who are regulars on these forums didn't give you a source for information that is common knowledge.

Mostly everyone who has been around these forums since the beginning can tell you that. And I am sure more than one person in this thread has brought it up that the Injen leans it out to get its gains. If multiple regulars on these forums tell you something like that take there word for it instead of being a stubborn prick and demanding a dyno when you can use the search function and find it your self.

Your link doesnt say anything that everyone on these forums already know about. If you bothered to spend some time researching before buying the Injen you would of seen the huge discussions already had on the Injen intake leaning out AFR's AND the dyno's that multiple shops and customers have posted regarding it leaning out the AFR's to get those gains. Lots of customers on these forums have had CEL's and problems with the intake. Obviously it isnt as widespread as other problems people have but it has happened.

I find it hard to believe you bought the Injen without doing any research on it as when I was looking to buy an intake that was one of the first things I came across. It just seems like you are hoping these claims are bogus now that you already own the intake when you can look for this stuff your self using the search function. Not that hard you know.

Like another member said this topic has been beaten to death A LONG time ago. I know this is a bump but people like you really need to listen to other members when MULTIPLE posters are telling you the same thing and not a single person has called them out on it saying that isn't true. Well because it is. Even Mods will tell you that. You eitehr arent trying hard enough or you just refuse to believe it because you bought the intake and the last thing you want to hear is it not being a good intake unless you get a tune. Just like Airaid owners who refused to believe that it lost power, well just be glad this isnt losing power atleast. In the SAME thread that was when this information was known regarding the Injen intake running lean.

I have the TRD cold air intake and IMO it's the best one you can get that doesn't require anything else like a tune, or what not. Throttle response is much better that with the stock intake, it's practically instantaneous, plus it gets rid of the sound generator that everyone seems to hate (I don't hate it personally, but you might).

I can't really see the point to getting an upgraded intake over a drop in air filter, unless you're getting a custom intake as part of an FI package, but to each his own.

Just my two pennies

The Best Intake is the one that only cost $2 + a nice drop-in filter.
And saves you about 4lbs of plastic out of your engine bay.
As I was taking all the bulk plastic pieces out of my car, I noticed all the extra chambers on the intake assembly...I assumed it was for acoustics, unless Toyota really hates horse power?

Subaru Made the Intake/Motor... Anyway, asking what the best CAI is, can be similar to asking what the best shoe is... A null question.

What did you use to take the small rectangle box out of the intake box? Not sure which tool to use and what you used to cover the hole on intake cover after taking that part out?

You just turned a COLD AIR INTAKE into a HOT AIR INTAKE...

not to mention the MAF sensor must be going crazy.

and just because it's louder DOES NOT always mean it's making more power!

Make a trip to home depot.
1-1/2 Knockout Test Cap found at home depot
is a perfect fit to delete the sound tube!
Schedule 40 PVC Plug fit the lower plug on the intake tube.
I drilled out the rivets and pulled off the other front piece. And installed a 1 1/2 knockout test cap. Painted it black to match the intake box.

I was onboard the hot air affecting performance band wagon for awhile, but in reality. (Normal Daily Drive) situations I can't see it affecting anything.
If your an extra from Fast a Furious or are on the track every weekend... I really think you need to spend the $$$ to buy a proper tested intake because they make intakes for that purpose. I modified mine to reduce the weight and clean up my engine bay. I really don't think the OEM design was "cold air" intake to begin with. With intake snorkel inlet sitting near the radiator. I also don't think I mentioned anything about it being louder? Or the MAF sensor going crazy. I have no proof my deletion is making power, but I'm almost sure it's not loosing any power also. If your theory is correct I'm sure HKS would be getting letters from angry customer all day long.
