I do this now! Whenever I park at the grocery store, I collect all of the uphill shopping carts on the way in...

Here's one:
When you have to climb UP to get out of the car.
I find myself putting my left hand on the bottom of the doorframce to get out, just like my porsche 914.

Use the Car and Driver method, I crank out my side rear view mirrors so they appear there as they transition out of my field of vision, and then transition into my main rear view mirror. Once you get used to it, it's the single greatest way to eliminate blind spots.

You know you are driving an FT86 when you go out of your way to find reasons to drive the car...

"Holy cow, we are down to just three gallons of milk.. I better run out and buy more!"

Before 86, trip to grocery store 10 minutes. After 86, 2 1/2 hours.

When your friend who owns a lightly-tuned S4 drives your car, and can't stop laughing and raving about it.

And then you drive his car, and politely remark about how nice the power is (but nothing about body roll in turns).

When your friend who owns a Genesis Coupe drives it, and instantly says it's better (not to mention, less "rattly" than his)

Or when you finally get home from the grocery store (after talking the scenic route) and realize you forgot the milk... (I can neither confirm nor deny that this happened to me)...

I do this already but looking over my shoulder is so ingrained in my driving habit that it always freaks me out when I can't confirm nothing's in my blind spot. I don't like relying on the mirrors only.

I saw some mirror attachments that increase the field of vision. I wonder how well they work.

Yeah, if traffic's crowded I'm still looking over my shoulder out of habit.
