People keep mentioning that it's for sale on the Japanese site, but I haven't seen it yet. I'm assuming with the fact that it's OEM and Japanese conversion rates and shipping have to be taken into account, the total cost should be somewhere in the neighborhood of a human lung.

Just ordered a phone mount setup that should work very nicely. I am mixing the ProClip mount with a 1" ball mount from Ram Mounts and adding the x-grip phone holder for my 4S to the ball mount. I will post pics up as soon as I have it installed. Looks like at least a week on shipping...

EDIT: just picked up the ProClip mount. Looks/feels high quality. Snapped right into place and is fairly solid...

Didn't realize they are based out of Madison, WI, so I was able to locally pick it up from their shop.

When the Ram Mounts show up I will post pics of the final setup...stay tuned

Finally received all the parts to setup my phone mount.

Sorry for the crappy pics, waiting for my new 'nifty-fifty' lens to come in for my canon. Had to use the point/shoot...

I am digging it so far! Super solid even tho our cars ride a bit stiff. Nothing has loosened from when you set it. Allows for an infinite amount of viewing options with the 1" balls on either end of the arm. I plan on getting the bigger X-Grip for my iPad Mini when we go on long trips and spin it to horizontal for Maps and Movies

The Ram Mounts took a bit to ship, but I am very satisfied with the quality!!

If anyone has any interest Ill look up the part numbers if you want to replicate. The best part about the X-Grip is it will work with almost all new smartphones. It will even hold my GPS unit. It is WAY better than using mounts that you have to buy specific cases for. I plan on updating to the new iPhone when it comes out and I dont want to have to buy another case mount in the fall when I get rid of the 4S. The XGrip will even fit my buddies SIII.

Cheers!

Not at all. Must be the camera angle. Works perfectly for me! Puts the phone at the right angle for viewing navigation and still makes it easy to use the screen and keep an eye on the road.

Hmm ok. I too have the proclip mount, but i also got the proclip iphone 5 holder, which only stands off the proclip mount by less than an inch. The arm on yours looks to be 3-4"? Thats why i was asking

@jshadeck

Yes, it is a 3" Ram Mount Arm with the 1" ball X-Grip to hold the phone. The only time it is an issue is when I sometimes reach quickly over to the passenger side seat and dont pay attention to where I am swinging my hand, and I have knocked it off the vent. Nothing has ever broken and it is very uncommon. It does hold well during spirited driving as well. It will shake slightly, but the Ram Mount is very sturdy. I have even used it with an iPad Mini for road trips. My girlfriend puts movies on it and we turn it more straight/angled towards her. But that has more weight, so it is not sturdy during hoonage...best saved for the phone.

I made this.

Actually has RED LED light, but the battery is tiny. So I am not gonna use it.

I like and use this one, which mounts in the cd slot. It blocks the built in gps, but I almost always use my phone instead, so its not a problem and positions the phone well for a quick glance

I can't believe nobody has posted this yet.

http://www.imagnetmount.com

Place the really-thin metal disc in between your phone and your case, or use the other one with the 3M tape preapplied.

Attach the mount to the CF dashboard, avoiding the line gap (trust me).

Mount and unmount the phone simply by placing it on the mount or taking it off directly! No need to fumble around release clips or anything. The magnet is really strong that it held my phone even when I participated in a drifting event.

Tip? Place the mounting disc nearer the top of the phone rather than the middle, to prevent it from spinning around by making it bottom-heavy.

Cons? It *might* mess up your phone's compass and your GPS might show you driving sideways, but easy fix is to just move the mounting discs in a different area.

I use the same one as flow, and it works superbly. Its in a great spot to not block any visibility, and it puts your line of sight in a place where you can use your peripheral vision for both right/left side and rear of vehilcle. Bonus it's close to the USB port and you can still run a CD if you really want to :P

Works great for music as well as the head unit is right there.

**Edit-it's also great when you want your passenger to change the music or put in the GPS co-ordinates. **
