Here's my amatuerish first attempt. Used a Ram Mount and Proclip offset swivel base, attached to a piece of 1/4 wood. I wanted mine a bit higher and farther forward, so I offset the swivel into the corner of the wood, rather than the center. It works great for me, except that I haven't attached it to the console, just sitting in the spot, so it goes flying in fast corners. I'm thinking velcro or maybe magnets - now that I've seen this thread.

Proclip dash mount and iphone 5 specific holder is PERFECT. Never been happier w a phone mount.

That ProClip setup is great, though I might have to re-order a separate holder in a few months when the new 5 comes out haha.

Thanks for posting that! Ordering my own today

I love it, use it all the time. Even when I don't use my phone for navigation, it's just nice to not have it in my pocket but still right there.

If you a) still have the mount and b) don't mind giving it a shot I would really appreciate it.

As long as it's a clean non porous surface, this thing sticks to anything. So yes it should stick to the panel you are referring to. I will check to see if there is enough space this weekend.

I really appreciate that. I like the placement of the magnet/adhesive solution in this thread but I feel much more secure with a suction cup configuration. That should provide the best of both worlds

The suction cup is wider than that piece you are referring to.

Did you see the 86 badge phone holder in the photos of the convertible?? Maybe they'll sell those as an accessory?
