Your probably right as well. FI will come all in do time. The more I think about it, more I would prefer to have all the supporting mods done first.

No argument on the setup except for tires. I'd go with Hankook RS-3s for track days or maybe Dunlop Z1/Z2s.

^ loving the Z2s on track!

As it's been said before, brake pads and fluid are going to be essentials for your first outing. I personally wouldn't spend any more and just see if you like it. If you do (it's hard NOT to enjoy yourself out there) and see yourself going out for track days much more regularly, then you can consider other upgrades (i.e. BBK, brake duct kit, dedicated track wheels/tires, etc.) that will give you more confidence to push harder and harder each time you go out.

Have fun and be safe!

This is the right attitude! You're there to learn at first, not set records or count how many point bys you get.

Brake pads, fluid, OEM camber bolt, and helmet. Don't worry about anything else yet.

If this is your first time, then my recommendation would be to go with the car stock. Spend the money on additional track days for now. It will be fine; it will take a few times before you are stressing the car to the point that you need brakes and fluid and tires. The group you will run in will also slow you down; even if you are able to go faster.

All the above recommendations are great. I'll add the following items:

1. Water. Lots of water. You'll be surprised how dehydrated you can get in a 20 minute session. Bring extra, you'll thank yourself.

2. Long sleeves and pants! bring extra if you have room. Extra t-shirt. Trust me, driving home at the end of a few heavy track sessions is pretty uncomfortable in a sweat soaked shirt.

3. Sun screen or an EZ-UP, plastic bags... or all 3.. If it rains your stuff stays dry and so do you!

4. A good torque wrench. I've seen wheels fly off on track. It's not pretty.

5. Comfy folding chair. You are going to have down-time between sessions. Might as well be comfortable.

You may laugh, but all these items will greatly increase your enjoyment (and comfort) at a track day. The more comfortable you are, the more you can focus on your driving!

Scott

You are cheap. Then it's easy.

I agree with Mike and have been in your shoes.

Keep it simple:
Tires (RS3), front camber bolts, alignment, brake pads and brake fluids and call it a day.

Keep your sessions at under 15 minutes or until you see oil temps hit 255F and the back off.
