Charging Phone Turns On Air-Bag

When I have my iPhone plugged into my USB outlet, and leave it on the passenger seat the air-bag turns on. When I disconnect the plug from the phone in the same position on the seat, it turns off.

Anyone else experienced this?

Very weird, It seems like the charger is interfering with the weight sensor.

Actually your airbag will go off at any minute

You should stick your genitals in some peanut butter

What about the phone? Does that get the peanut butter too? Is there a dog involved? At least the phone is protected by the air bag...

lol at posts.

The sensors must be really sensitive. Since it turns abs on, I put the phone in middle console.

Take it to the dealership, the airbag is not supposed to come on for something as minimal as a cell phone. Its a sensor issue they should install a new sensor or calibrate it so it doesn't come on for something that light. Nissan had that issue in their cars last year, they replaced a bunch of em.

Since everyone seems to take just as much time mocking you as it would take helping you.

The seat doesnt use a weight sensor it uses an Electrostatic sensor, and cell phones cause them to incorrectly think there is someone sitting there. Just clip the passenger seatbelt if thats where you want to keep your phone. Or just put your phone somewhere else.

Good info, thank you. I was just curious if anyone else had experienced the same. Makes perfect sense though, and thanks again for the explanation.
