I have a buddy who works for American Honda/Acura in Torrence and he says that Honda/Acura is working on a few hush hush stuff. Haven't talked to him in awhile, but the last time I did he said they're bringing back the Integra, still a FWD, and probably will replace the TSX and working on the next NSX (we already know about this one). He also said that they have a FI (turbo) CR-Z in the works. So stay tuned if you're interested, but Honda/Acura has lost my interest ages ago and it would practically take a act of God to change my mind any time soon...

I too like the Mugen version, hopefully they're doing something in the performance section

I hear alot of people figured the K24 would've like to have it rather than the hybrid option,

I even heard about a K24 Mugen version of it, I think it was called the RR
not sure tho

It gets good mpg, and it has a stick shift option, that's about it. I appreciate that they understood that it was just an off the shelf cheapo engine and thus the price is not too exorbitant, but that doesn't make the car something people want to buy. I've seen a total of 1 on the road so far.
there's at least 3 or 4 of them around my town, and I do like the way it looks mainly because it looks really similar to the CR-X which was one of my fave cars back in highschool

I can agree with that, to echo what alot you have been saying, a K2A version would be more desirable with the Hybrid version being like the CR-X HF

sounds like they're going to attempt the "eco-boost" that Ford's been using more recently

eco boost isnt anything special its just turbos on a smaller displacement engine and its not like Ford was the 1st to do that (tho deff the 1st to offer it in their entire line)

A CRZ turbo would not be a "eco boost" engine but more so the tuner/fun car then anything else.

Any K series would make this car much much more enjoyable.

There are reviews saying CT200h has more sporty feeling than IS250. Better seat position, better steering feel and so on. The only drawback is they put a Prius engine in a more capable chassis.

^^ maybe, but the point I was making was more, if you're looking for that sort of driving experience, I don't think most people would even think of the CT200h as an option.

If they turbo the same engine, still wouldn't be interested. The acceleration to weight (since it's turbo hybrid you get a very very wonky torque delivery) would probably not match its competitors after considering the price increase. The base motor just isn't for making good power at all, it's to be the cheapest possible engine that Honda can throw into a car. It doesn't have good torque, it doesn't have good power.

People probably will if they drop hybrid for gasoline.

[QUOTE=zoomzoomers;122804]Acutally I think they should have tried HARDER to blend the two...

Agreed!

Took the words out of my mouth!

I think it's basically an option for people with deep pockets that don't want to be seen around Prius/CRZ/etc. owners. LOL

Personally, I was actually looking at both the CRZ and the CT200h because my firm gives me $3k to buy a hybrid car. I was looking hard at the CR-Z, but honestly it just doesn't do it for me. Like someone said above, good idea bad execution. It would have been better if they even dropped the base Civic engine in there without all the weight from the batteries it might have been a winner, but then it wouldn't be a hybrid would it...

Well I did some digging and found that Mugen has made a Version of the CRZ with 200hp, while that's great, I wonder if they bumped up the torque

Well you gotta remember, a gasoline engine makes approximately constant torque, but an electric motor has max torque at 0 rpm if electronics permit, and falls inversely with rpm. So low rpm torque requirements on a hybrid are not very important, it's the high end that is typically lacking because they cheap out on the motor to offset the price of the hybrid driveline.

I heard about the Mugen, but I forgot what they did to it. My guess is a turbo sized for high rpm efficiency/power.
EDIT: okay appears to be a centrifugal supercharger instead. My hope is that the NSX can follow up on this, but do it right. Honda's most advanced hybrid system is arguably the most versatile...but they should follow it up with something radical in the engine as well.

Fun to toss around, way too little power though. Sport mode is a little better, and I only drove the CVT since that's all they had, but it's still not enough. They also should've found a way to keep the back seat that other markets get. It looks stupid having a spot that looks like it's meant perfectly for a seat, but then there's just cubby holes instead.
