Front pipe installed = WTF

I just installed a front pipe on my FR-S earlier and came back from a drive. All I can say is, if you don't already have one, do it.

The amount of partial throttle power and response I gained was ridiculous. I had installed a aFe R5 filter previously and my butt dyno was like "meh I think I got a bit more power..." After the front pipe it was like "dayum!" It was that noticeable, the increase in power and response. I'm quite positive if I granny/feather the throttle for MPG, I'd get quite a bit more over the factory front pipe.

Only mods I have that would affect the engine output is the aFe r5 drop in, and the up pipe. This leads me to believe that the stock fuel map is ridiculous rich for these 2 mods to make this much of a difference.

Seriously... do it. Do it.

I know you asked him, but I had 595's on my E46 M3 and hated them. They only lasted 10k miles, seemed to have great grip at first, but on the track they overheat quickly and get fairly greasy. I have driven on just about all of the popular UHPST IE RS3, Star Specs etc, I would not by the federal again.

The price is right, dry grip is great. Wet grip was ok, now with the Sprintex it's crap.

They overheat pretty quickly on the track as well. They are the next think to be swapped out for a set of hankooks or toyo's.

Go catted on the front pipe, it'll keep rasp down if you ever decide to get a header.

What do you think of sound on the following (in terms of quietness/loudness):

AVO turbo header, 2.5" overpipe, front pipe, midpipe, and stock muffler?

If I don't go innovate this is my plan for exhaust setup.

I'm looking for OEM sound level or less with the best performance gains.
