I agree getting this engine up to temperature faster is a big benefit.

My issue with air to oil coolers is pin-hole leaks, very easy to lose the oil in the engine. This should be a great alternative should we find an inexpensive means to route the coolant.

I was looking at this on my car and waited agesss for someone to give feedback on a turbo car. Getting a bit pissed off at the heat soak & management needed from my mocal air/oil cooler.

The accessory belt driven water pump on the BRZ looks a lot different than the other models, I don't think there is room for the nipple part.

Got back last night from the JY with an oil cooler from a WRX, looks just like the new one. $50 with the bolt.

I think you are right. I took a few more looks at the stock header location and that extra nipple would be right up against the header.

I think the best route will be the hole next to the heater hose and then T off the heater hose for the return line.

Since the factory coolant tubing looks to be fairly small from the pictures, what about re routing the coolant lines that feed the throttle body? Then you also be preventing the throttle body from being heated.

Well you do want coolant coming from where it just leaves the radiator, so coming from right near the water pump as its pumping is a good spot. But back there with the throttle, won't it be hot coolant?
