BTW I finally got a chance to run Summit Point Shenandoah and you were right -- it's very fun in the FR-S.
Yeah it's a fun track. A little sketchy in a high power time attack car. The last time I was there we were catching air at 140 mph

Holy crap. I was worried about getting a tiny bit of rear wheelspin off that crest at < 100mph, I can't imagine how scary that must feel at 140 with all four wheels in the air. Damn!

Wheel straight!

Well the back story is that Visconti has a fuel flex system that is... let's say less than perfectly made. There was a customer of theirs who's car completely burnt to the ground while Visconti was testing out his car after the installation and tune. So now burning down you car is called being "Visconti'd".

Yeah ask Robert Fuller what he thinks of that jump. He landed his EVO from that, not sure if something broke, but launched the car into the air again at the carrousel and slammed the tire wall. I actually broke a tie rod end one year, must have thought I was on my MX bike and crossed up in the air, but luckily I stayed in control.

The jump was certainly a crowd pleaser . Very fun track but a little dicey in some sections!

Oh Ok. Yeah modifying the fuel system on this car takes great care. I mean seriously, major attention to detail! It's very easy to get the seal wrong on the tanks, easy to get the fuel lines tangled in the level sensors, easy to make a mistake on the assembly unit......

I burned my car up the old fashion way, keep racing until you see smoke or fire Our biggest problem was that the hood release cable melted and we couldn't get the hood open and once the fuel lines burned through it was game over.

Damn, that sucks. It's like if you could open the hood, there might have been some percentage of salvaging more of the car. Man, looking forward to the rebuild.

Yes that was a tough lesson with the hood release. The type of fire extinguishers they use at the track really work best if you can hit the fire source directly. I think I will install hood pins on the rebuild but keep the hood release but wire it open for track use.

I'm looking forward to the rebuild as we'll build one of our remarkable motors and start pushing the envelope.

If anyone has a BRZ in the San Francisco Bay area please PM me....especially if interested in a Hydra EMS.
