Car's looking great. Thanks for sharing the info on the cage. Can the rear seats be reinstalled fairly easily once the cage is unbolted? Estimate on time it takes to install?

On the rear substantial roll and pull because you don't want to run too much static negative camber. I'm really not that low so I can get away with it and the flares hide the fact that I'm not low.
Phil,

Bringing this thread back because I just started one on running REALLY big sizes. I will include this text in my new post to start it off.

What size tire are you running. I'm thinking I'm going w/ 17s--a little shorter tire may help travel clearance on a softer suspension setup.

Thx

This is the car that blew its motor and burned recently. Not sure how bad the damage is outside the motor.

Hopefully it wasn't too serious and can be repaired quickly.

Phil posts on here sometimes and I believe they had a radiator leak and the car had run hot a few times and I believe it finally popped a head gasket.

Hey guys, sorry I didn't subscribe to my own thread so I had no idea there were questions.

Yes but the cage really isn't very easy to remove. If you had to remove and install once a year then it wouldn't be too bad. It's actually pretty easy to pull the front seats and the rear seats but the panels are a PITA.

A first time install takes a good 3 hours but once you have all of your holes drilled, etc. install and removal shouldn't take more than 40 minutes being careful.

The slicks are Hoosier R80 285/645-18 and the "street class" tires are Hankook RS3 275/35-18.

Yeah we suspect due to the numerous overheats while racing the head gasket blew finally. The damage was pretty extensive.

There is also a chance it spun a rod bearing but we have yet to even touch the car since the fire as we are just too busy and it needs a ton of work. I've actually been shopping rear end wrecks as so much is damaged it will be cheaper to get a donor car to pull everything from the dash forward to restore my car.

This is a winter project for sure since the shop is just way too busy with customer work. I do miss the car though!

As for the future, it's go big time, built motor, some bigger rubber, and ton of boost!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the update Phil. Best of luck getting the car up and running again!

BTW I finally got a chance to run Summit Point Shenandoah and you were right -- it's very fun in the FR-S.
