I've said it before and I'll say it again. The only parts of this car that are Toyota are:
1) The styling
2) The transmission
3) The rear differential
4) The dual injection system
5) The general "spirit" of the car

It is a true joint effort car, without either company the car would be very different than it is and probably not as good (if all toyota) or non-existant entirely (if all subaru). But don't kid yourself, the lions share of the engineering that went into the car was/is Subaru derived, which is exactly what Toyota intended.

Yeah those Subaru parts are why I have those damn crickets..!!

You do understand I'm just out of something to do so I'm talking trash.

Oh here's those damn crickets.....

Truthfully? I'd rather not drive a vehicle wearing brand engineering exercise badge, I don't care for the Scion manufactured brand image. I'm also no toyota man, in fact I tend to strongly dislike Toyota's. Combined with the fact that the scion didn't have the features I wanted (Bi-xenons and Keyless start) was more common, was a Scion, will likely be wrecked more and have higher insurance rates the decision was fairly easy.

Do I dislike the FR-S? Hell no, I do wish that it had been badged as Toyota here just as it is everywhere else and that Toyota would just give up on "youth marketing". But I'm very well awre that the BRZ and the FR-S are at their core the same car, however the BRZ is (IMO) the better version of said car.

But that's just, like, my opinion man.

In short I'd drive a Subaru before I'd drive a Toyota and I'd drive a Toyota before I'd drive a Scion. Because reasons.
Says he bought BRZ for bi-xenons

BRZ doesn't have bi-xenons

Got trolled in real life

That, or he just trolled me

Either way

All good mate

It wouldn't be a subaru if it didn't have some stupid first year problem!
although we could make the case for the crickets being toyota's fault since the fuel injection system is Toyota sourced

Le sigh... do I have to educate all of you tonight?

The BRZ most certainly does have Bi-Xenon headlights.

Links everything but Subaru

Have someone sit in your car, turn on lights, then high beams. You will see the HID doesn't change, only the high beam light bulb comes on.

On new cars, most xenon-equipped headlights are only offered as a low-beam headlight with a halogen bulb for the high beam. Bi-xenon headlights offer xenon-light output for the low and high beams, and they’re housed in the same headlight capsule/projector.
Yes it is semantics at this point but its funny because you are arguing (trolling?) so hard

You can't possibly be this stupid... can you?

I linked the other because they neatly and authoritatively defined what a Bi-Xenon lamp is.

The BRZ has one HID Xenon Capsule per side, inside that capsule there is a shutter that moves to dim or allow the single bulbs full output. That is what a Bi-Xenon lamp is. The BRZ has Bi-Xenon lamps. Please stop being willfully stupid.

Does it make sense that two cars that are produced in the same factory by one company and engineered by the same teams for both and are the same in every single design detail and almost every single styling detail would have the engine moved in any direction relative to the other car? Do you know how much work and engineering would have to be done to do that? It wouldn't exactly be easy.

Furthermore what about keyless start, dual zone climate controller and bi-xenon headlamps make you think that those options would require fundamental design changes? This is not as simple as some guy steered you wrong, this goes to a level that displays a complete lack of critical thinking ability and simple rational thought. I actually feel kind of bad for you because your life cannot be easy if you're truly that simple, illogical, and gullible.
when he told me about the engine being forward, thoughts running through my mind were, the Subaru has a stiffer suspension then the scion. So a engine moved forward could facilitate the comment and help the 50/50 balance witch for the scion I believe is a 53/47. They both run on McPherson struts and they both have double wishbone suspension, so the thought of the engine being pushed forward is far from impossible, and when he told me moved forward it would have been no more than a mm. Im not gullible just trust too much and if he is wrong which all of you are saying then fine. Still I must get to the bottom of this because like I said he hasn't steered me wrong.:happy0180:

There is no "bottom to get to" The engines are positioned exactly the same, period.

Well now, this thread sure did get spicy .....

OP, most people that have commented on my FR-S, think it costs more than it did .... I consider that a good thing ..
