It should not be an issue. Subaru boxer engines are used, with reduction gears, in experimental aircraft all over the world. In that application they are run constantly run at near full RPM for thousands of hours.

I have personally flown with one in an RAF2000 gyrocopter and a Zenith 601HD fixed wing. I would not hesitate to do it again.

At the revs you are talking the engine is not even at a good fast walk never mind running hard, compared to these uses of them.

ooo, that's definetly a nice rate of travel haha.

the tube i think he's talking about is the "sound tube". the stock intakes have a tube branching off the left side of it that feeds into the cabin. provides a louder sound to the driver, gives it a more "engine-y" sound...terrible way to describe but i gave it a try haha

Mine does this too. I have read reports here where warranties were denied for removing the sound tube. If you "delete" it hold on to it in case you need to re-install, never give them an out.

Just get some tools and start taking it out. Just be sure to plug any holes you make. And don't forget about the rest of it:

I think what you circled in red rattles too, ideally that would be removed as well

yea i kept the sound tube stuff, it's worth it and real simple if you want to use the warranty at some point

I think an intake pipe has to be replaced too because that hole would very hard to plug/block.

That second photo I posted is actually my car. I believe the seller included the original intake piping, so if you don't mind waiting over 2 months, I could sell you my pipe you see in that picture for the cheap.

I've already ordered an FA20Club intake, but I want something in case I need to bring it in for warranty work. Pretty sure he sent the stock piping to me, so I won't need the pipe you see in the picture.

Just So you know apparently if you can use the cap for the cigarette lighter plug behind the glovebox to plug the hole.
