Has anyone tried the Redline MTL and Motul Gear 300 back to back? Care to share your thoughts on the differences if any?

Since the MTL is 80W and the Motul is 90W....does the MTL give "lighter" feeling as such?

These cars use Aisin transmissions. Subaru doesn't build transmissions.

I'm at 3000 miles and my synchros have smoothed out and are no longer crunchy. 2nd gear used to be the worst especially when the transmission was cold but has since gotten better.

Engines, transmissions and brakes need to designed with all types of drivers in mind both good and bad. I'm pretty sure that even drivers with marginal/poor shifting technique would have no problems putting 100k miles on a transmission without a fluid swap.
Actually, synchros are soft, bronze in fact. What the break in does is allow time for the bronze to be thoroughly bathed in oil so that the synchros are fully lubricated. Another reason to follow factory break in.

I changed my fluid to Pentosin 75w80 last night and immediately could feel the difference. Shifting into 1st produces no clunk (yet...) and from 1st to 2nd has no weird resistance.

So far so good.

I'm over 22k miles on my BRZ. I just changed my fluid yesterday and it's a marked improvement over stock fluid.

Subbed. I will likely have my shop replace the transmission fluid the next time I have it in the shop.

The trans gaskets you can get away with not replacing them as they are not crush washers. Diff you have to.

And you only need two jack stands, you just have to lift and lower the car more often.

I changed mine to GM synchromesh, mainly because the transmission is a SOB in cold winter. Shifting are smoother now though even in summer weather. And metal shavings/dust/sludge are nothing to scuff about, fresh cut gears.,, Metal bits on the other hand..
