In what world do you live in where a full FI kit only costs 3100?

I love the argument of all that torque breaking components. Check the forced induction mileage thread. Original axles and bearings working perfectly. You can live in fear if you want and try to justify your forced induction selection if you want to though.

If passing emissions wasn't such a royal PITA here, I'd probably just go turbo. But it is. Stupid Massachusetts.

I added the clause at the end for this exact reason. I had a swapped legacy STI and every day I drove it thinking "today is the day my engine will blow". This is MY fear and I completely understand why you don't have it. Plus I am no mechanic so if something does go slightly wrong I am in the hands of my local shop or mechanic friends.

several of the subaru tuning solutions, including accessport allow you to force readiness, i've done so for several years with no issue getting stickers in mass. Iirc you are allowed one not ready, any more than that is a fail.

if you tinker on that sti and eventually snap the barb on the evap solenoid (that awkwardly placed thing with the hoses infront of the intake manifold), you'll be estatic to be able to cap off the ports, clean up the engine bay and force readiness on the evap system.

don't see why that can't exist on this platform, if it doesn't already.

But you didn't so its not.
No compounding upgrades like, tune, exhaust, CAI, LWCP, CF driveshaft, increase cooling, Rims/tires? There's alot that goes into an FI build, so base kit expense isn't the only thing you have to look at.

Problem is that we don't know how long that's gonna fly before they smarten up and catch it. I have some friends that used to be state inspectors and who own tuned cars and they're all worried about that day coming. That being said, the Avo turbo kit is becoming more and more interesting... more power everywhere and a clean OEM look under the hood is what I really want.

I think it will be hard for pure (non visual) OBDII inspectors to catch it.
On more than one occasion I forced emissions readiness monitors on a turbo RSX with no cat. The heavy smell of the exhaust coupled with the boost gauges did not phase the inspector. They just want to plug in their tool and press a button, give you the printed sheet and wave the next car in.

If your state does VISUAL inspections then it would be wise not to force readiness, as you could fail the visual inspection and maybe some eyebrows will be raised..... something tells me that it is very illegal to tamper with OBDII emissions systems, but something also tells me that the state does not have the time/resources to seek out people that force emissions readiness/turn off emissions codes

Mine are fine, how are yours? I love my charge cooler.

The problem you're going to have, other than walking into a supercharger thread and trolling with turbo talk, is you're trying to troll someone who prefers turbochargers to superchargers!

Can I see an EcuTek log of those IATs bro? We all prefer turbos to superchargers, haha. I know you are in the mother land, but you were able to get an intercooled setup for $3100?
