Btw wrx tears genesis at a track. Seen it time after time, So there are more options. And genesis is a gt car that brute force way through the track. There is no suspension balance, just all power.

Yes, there are more options but saying the Gencoupe is nothing more than a Sonata on steroids would be like saying the FRZ is the equivalent of a souped up Prius because they share the same tires.. |

The truth is that it's in fact based on the Genesis chassis and engineering. It was not designed from the ground up to be a sports car, not even a tourer. Basically they grabbed the Chassis, R&D, engineering, production standards that were used to develop a sub $20k D class sedan and modified it to make a "sports coupe". That's the big difference, and the reason it's so different than other options out there. And also the main reason people like us (enthusiast looking for driver's car) don't usually put a genesis right in the top of our list. Your BRZ to Prius analogy is completely flawed and missed the point. A BRZ was a sports car designed from the ground up to meet that single goal and nothing else. A Prius is a complete different platform...a hybrid from Toyota. On the other hand, the analogy of a Genesis Coupe to the Genesis Family Sedan is not, because it was in fact developed based on that platform. Don't get me wrong, I don't think it's a horrible car, I just don't think it should be in the same shopping list of a BRZ/370z/MX-5. Or even a Mustang or Camaro (muscle cars designed for no other purpose than to doing exactly that), even though people compare the Genesis more often than not to those. A Genesis Coupe has more to do with a Accord Coupe, Altima Coupe or Civic SI than any of those models, because it was a "sport version" of a platform designed to be something completely different (usually D class sedans). |

i went from a 2012 Gen Coupe to a BRZ. The build quality of the BRZ is far better than my previous Gen Coupe. I've said this before in a post: "You can't fix quality by adding more HP." This seems to be what Hyundai does with the Gen Coupe.

That's true about the 1st gen, at least with the small engine. I was referring to the 2nd gen Gencoupe, since that's obviously what the OP bought (and the OP didn't specify engine, so it could even be the big engine, which is a lot faster in a straight line than the BRZ/FRS). |

The way I see it, you can add as much HP to a perfect, low center frame. But you can't change the frame on a high HP car.
However, if you plan to keep you car stock (or near stock), then you made the perfect choice for you. For me, it's nice to have a car that people assume to know is not too quick and see the surprised look on their face after I slap a supercharger in.
