Urm... with only 3 weeks to go, we're running out of time. Securing a location large enough without being chased out by law enforcement is one, planning activities is another.

That is really it... I'm not bitter or anything, I just don't want to put in all the work if the event isn't going to be a great memory for everyone. I started a dialogue a couple weeks ago hoping that some other members would be proactive, but I think everyone must be as busy as I am because not a whole lot happened.

I'd rather step back and let someone who is more motivated and has the time to spare take care of planning this event and then I can enjoy it.

This drive looks bad ass! The starting point is at Woodland Intermediate School which has a really big parking lot and should be closed on Sunday. If people want to do this drive I will call the school and make sure they have no issues with us hanging out in their parking lot for an hour or two. The drive would be a commitment but looks fun as hell. Seattle people would have a longer drive in the AM but the Portland people would have the longer drive home.

Sounds ok to me. I'd like a end spot to stop as well as a starting point just so the people that want to hang and get out of there cars for a little while can. Perhaps some place with food/drinks? or end it at a camp ground and have a big bonfire!

I like it!

I don't think we are going to have a big bonfire at the end since the date is on a Sunday... people are going to need to get home at a reasonable time.

Since inquiring with Darren a couple of weeks ago about assisting, I contacted Longview Toyota and confirmed they are no longer a Scion Dealer. Additionally, attempted to contact Scion corporate in Southern Cal and unfortunately I am not writing a sponsorship proposal for the event. We should contact Broadway / Vancouver Toyota and Seattle based Toyota dealer for sponsorship. So a few questions for the group:

What is the schedule of activities?
How many people will attend?
Will food be provided?
Will we have a signature event?

The location proposed by Digital Assassin is ideal. On September 29th NWR SCCA will be hosting an Autocross event at the Hampton Mills site. I just contacted the organization. The chair person for the event name is Karl. He can be reached at karl.coleman@comcast.net.

The Hampton Mills facility in Packwood Washington is ideal to host the event. Concerning the drive time, the proposed path outlined by DA will take a minimum 3 hours (From Vancouver, WA) whereas if you take I-5 to Hwy 12 you can get the drive done in under 2 hours.

The biggest challenge at the moment will be lining up any swag for all attendees.

I called the school and got the name and number of the guy who can give us the ok to use the school parking lot. I'll call him tomorrow. Sounds like it shouldn't be a problem from talking to the office lady.

This is a great drive! Beware of the section from St. Helens north to Randle is quite rough with lots of dips in the road. You can easliy bottom out!
