Hey guy,
if you don't mind, can you tell me about what you got covered and how much it cost?

Thanks!

Just to help clarify with the kits/parts covered. I got kits P5706A-X and P5706B-X applied to my car. So partial hood, fender, mirror, bumper, and luggage area with Xpel Ultimate for $600. Not cheap, but I no longer have to worry about any paint chipping on the front of my car.

Hey thanks for the info! That honestly sounds like a pretty reasonable price for 3m as far as I have read, and $600 is less than the price of the two packages individually. And if worksmanship is great that sounds pretty good to me.

Yep, my thoughts exactly with it. I was very happy with the end result. Looked great and cheaper than buying the packages from the manufacturer. I can't recommend the guy enough.

Haha, maybe I will give him a visit sometime then.
If I do, I'll let him know I was sent along by someone's recent 10-series job.

I polished and carnauba waxed mine during the first week of ownership. Seems to have helped, only one very small superficial chip on the bumper and that happened on the first day's drive home.

Nothing but re-waxing for me, but it'll be in storage Nov-Apr, away from Winter gravel. If I keep it for awhile, I'll get a repaint or it might just be cheaper to buy a new factory pre-painted bumper cover whenever needed.

My first chip/scratch is not the front, it is on the side by getting to the apex too close and touch by some branches on the road side. I guess unless I clear bra the whole car?

Xpel is a great Paint Protection film and so is Avery Nano Fusion. Another brand I like because it has great clarity is Premium Shield Elite. Only so many lifetime warranty films on the market. I have wrapped a few cars in 3M 1080 Scotchprint and Avery 900 Supreme wrap film that some wanted to protect the color in a unique way. Only problem that way is the Silver ignition is not a color that is available from either film manufacturer but it is most cost effective then a complete Paint protection coverage on a vehicle. Best value of all for protection is the precut kits installed locally by a reputable company. Make sure the installer has skill and most likely he/she will make it look easy. Just maintain wash/wax and care after install.

I personally on my 10 series have full hood and bumper paint protection coverage. I also covered my headlights but covered my mirrors in Scotchprint Carbon look from 3M. Paint protection brand Premium Shield.

For under $1000 you can buy enough Xpel Ultimate (not from official site but still genuine) to fully cover the whole car and wrap its edges to make it perfectly seamless. There will be No need to ever worry about rock chips, getting keyed, swirls etc. Installation difficulty is so exaggerated on forums, it just needs a bit of patience and attention to detail to get the perfect result and you save a whole heap of cash.
Paintjobs are never as good as what comes from the factory and its very difficult to get the colour right with these newer colours.
Prevention is better than a "cure".

I put a clear bra on my Camaro about a month after I bought it almost 4 years ago. Let's just say I 100% plan on putting one on my FR-S/BRZ whenever I get it. These water-based paints they use on new cars is just awful. If you look at it the wrong way, it chips.
