So becides cooling properties, whats the benefit? I haven't read anything or seen any issues with the oem diff. I dont ask to hate, I ask because I really want to know why you designed this and i dont get it.

"I know some of the Japanese race teams had some trouble with overheating the rear diff early on."
That IS the purpose, to keep the diff oil cool. |

I wonder about lower weight as well (maybe a couple pounds?). As is aluminum versus OEM steel. That would just be an added side benefit as main focus is cooler diff.

It doesn't seem to hang that low. I'm only lowered 1 inch. It looks so gnarly. I like it. Price is good. The Cusco unit is twice the cost

Solid craftmanship! I'm not a fan of the hanging fins though. Have they proven to make much difference in temperature? I wonder if fins along the back panel coupled with a ram scoop from the bottom would work better - more surface area, and the fins are no longer hanging down. Won't be as gnarly looking for those who want that though.

I had the pleasure of seeing this in person. It's gone through several iterations. Mach V doesn't release a home-grown part unless it's perfect. Diff heat is a good way to kill that 4-figure fancy diff you had shipped overseas
+50% capacity and cooling fins, with temp and cooler add-ons is a big winThis is mild-drop safe. My first thought driving behind the Mach V BRZ was "That diff looks low...." After some spirited backroads driving with plenty of bumps, can attest it doesn't hit. I'd feel comfortable running one on my daily commute. Can't forget the bonus of supporting a US company and not paying Cusco tax on a part too *Post in no way paid for by Mach V. Just a fan and product user, not an affiliate* |
