The transmission is different, and most of all the flywheel side is VERY different which everything bolts to.

I do not show the SB5-HDG6 working for the FRS/BRZ.

One is an SB5 and the one for us is an SB8

Plus the one for our cars is cheaper and comes with a flywheel while the WRX is more money and does not come with a flywheel.

Regardless of part numbers, these are completely different transmissions. Other Subarus do not use Aisin transmissions, are AWD, etc.

For reference, Clutchmasters has a completely new part number for the 86's clutches that is not shared with any other car.

I think you are wasting time going down a rabbit hole. Go with a clutch that is meant for the car. While our transmission is similar to the S2000 Aisin box, our engine and flywheel are all Subaru boxer, so it is unlikely any clutch kit not made for the twins will work in our application. You seem set on not utilizing the more popular ACT and Clutchmaster options. I know that SPEC clutches are really popular in higher horsepower cars like Terminators. Personally I think the ACT flywheel/clutch is the best value out there, and with your power, I would definitely get the 6 Puck.

Anyway, so far from what I've read the clutch is different. But that was a good question. I know the VW 1.8T and Dodge Neon's pressure plate were identical other then the size of the holes for the dowel pins and the fact that the VW part had a stronger clamp load. I think it was an L drill bit or something to that effect, combined with an old turbo dodge disk and whatever neon flywheel you wanted and you had a very cheap clutch that would happily hold 400 ftlbs.
