Borla UEL basic thoughts/ review

first off, im not good at writing reviews and i use an iphone for pics and vids so sorry if this isnt up to snuff

i really just wanted to post my thoughts about this Borla header. i cant thank Jeremy and Yo enough @ft86speedfactory.com those guys are legit and their customer service is awesome. i feel like im dealing with close friends when i get stuff from them.

i decided to do a header last on my car cause i was afraid that for a daily, it would end up being too loud. now we all have our own opinions on what is "too loud" so to each his own. so i pulled the trigger on the header and as of right now, i could not be happier with the result. for me, the car sounds amazing. it still isnt loud but it now has that rumble that i had with my 2004 WRX. it sounds AMAZING

i never really understood what it meant when people would mention torque dip. i mean, i get it on paper, but i didnt really get it. but now i totally understand. its not like the car has been given this tremendous boost in power, it just feels like the power thats supposed to be there, is there. thats the only way i can describe it. you will absolutely feel the difference if you get this header. i know its listed as weighing 10 lbs or so but this thing felt to me like it weighed 5 lbs. its so damn light. i didnt feel the factory one but im sure its heavier.

i know a lot of people have had and are having issues with this header but i think that borla has proven that they will take care of us if we have an issue. if youre on the fence about getting this, add me to the list of people telling you, DO IT! you will love it

I agree with the OP 100%!! Awesome part, awesome performance, awesome price, awesome customer service!! Win win win!!

It's so sad that people are still throwing around pics from one bad batch of headers. Those headers have all been swapped and disposed of so I think the pics should be too.

One bad batch? By batch you mean 3 months of production then yeah, 1 bad batch.

@Adeets -
My Borla UEL looked nothing like the pic your spamming accross the threads.. was actually a clean collector and good welds. It has held up well so far to my lead foot and the torque dip was pretty much gone after. I waited until one of the newest batches to buy it though and have had it for a couple months. I am either lucky or Borla all in all isnt as bad as people are claiming. Some just had bad experiences and seem all sour grapes over it

OP Thanks man! I almost bought the Borla the first day it was announced. I am holding out on a header until I know all of the products are on the market and I can easily compare them - plus the longer I wait, the cheaper they get. I appreciate your opinion and I will make sure it is counted when I pull the trigger this spring when I make the purchase.

My car gets a big gift every time it gets out of storage, last year it was a visual upgrade, this year it will be headers ...and rims.... lol

Some of us did buy them, expecting good quality, and we got hosed, so we sent it back to get a new one, then we still got hosed, and again, hosed. Til finally we said fuck it and just ground down the flanges, but that still doesn't fix the collector being a big POS. since this is a review, and the OP didn't attach collector pics, that "old pic" is still relevant. I'm just trying to make sure what me and a bunch of other people got as "quality" products doesn't happen to other forum members.
