Remove gas cover appliqué

Has anyone successfully removed the gas cover appliqué without damaging the cover door? What's the best method. I briefly tried to use some floss but that sucker is on there good.

Will heating it up a little help or any other suggestions? I'm really unhappy with the look of that appliqué so it needs to go!

Thanks

What exactly are you referring too? My fuel cover door is painted like the rest of the car.

I'm betting you can find someone in your area with the same color car that would want to just trade doors. You can't damage it that way. Just an idea.

Yeah, I don't blame you for wanting to remove that.

I would think that "Goo-be-Gone" would do the trick on that. It should only loose the adhesive and not effect the paint. It's no where near as hot as Goof-Off.

Yes, heating it up will help. Heat gun would be best, but if you don't have one, a hair dryer would work too, just take longer. Use goo gone along with the heat gun, and you should have no problem removing it with floss. That's how I removed the "ivtec" decals on the side of my Si.

Yep, heat and any of the goo removal products will take care of the sticky stuff left behind.

park your car under the sun for a couple of hours , and start to peel out the egde and just yanked it , if there's a residue left, use goo gone .

the faster you peel that stupid sticker off the fuel door the better , because itll leave a mark if you take it off later

Finally got rid of it. Floss wasn't able to get behind it so I used a fingernail to get it started. Then it was just a matter of just slowly peeling it back. Cleaned and waxed.... Now onto the chrome fender trim! =)
