In cases like this where what they're giving you can be obtained in-game, then it might detroy the whole immersion factor that made the other GT's so great. Most of the races I remember aren't the ones where I drove a GT-R in the Clubman Cup, its where I bought a crappy first car and used it to build an empire. Giving someone 25 high powered cars to start doesn't teach them how to use a racing line - it teaches them how to ride the wall. Like if the first car you were ever given was a brand new 455 HP Corvette C7. I feel like it takes something away by just giving you everything right off the bat. Just my opinion though, some people probably just want to drive everything from the start without having to complete some slow-ass races. |

If you're going to bring up people complaining, they'd do that even if they waited. I waited for the hype to die down on GTA4, and it didn't. I picked it up, and never even got to the second island, much less the larger city. The game just didn't work for me. I hated Nico as a main character, and couldn't care less about what he was doing, nor doing trivial stuff like running people over with cars. I prefer a great narrative with characters I enjoy. The reviews and first-hand accounts told me that it was great, I avoided the pre-order, still got burned. It's all personal opinion though. Everyone is different, a pre-order isn't going to make or break someone's opinion of a game. Instead they'll be more cautious about the next game from that developer/publisher. Another example is BF3. I played the shit out of Bad Company 2 on PC, so I hoped on the BF3 train. I was so furious with the poor support in that game. The cheating is insanely bad, DICE had no proper channel to PunkBuster, and they had so many glitches people were abusing non-stop, and tons of them are still in the game. As a result, BF4 is not pre-ordered, and I have zero plans to play it. We are WAY off topic now though. I pre-ordered GT6 from Amazon. I've played a fair amount of 5, and am interested to see the changes/improvements. I'm hoping they'll get some more wheel options and let us play with offsets, etc. I'm also hoping they'll adjust the audio notes for the cars to be a bit less generic, but I'm not holding my breath for that one. They all have a unique idle, but whatever processing they're using to convert to acceleration makes them all sound too similar. I'm probably going to do what I did with 5 and just drive the cars I want to drive on the tracks I want to trying to best my laps times. I spent close to 80 hours doing that stuff in 5.

I beat GTAIV the whole way, thought "eh" and then played the Saints Row series. Gameplay is a world apart - much more fun when you removed some of the realism. I wish I would have rented it and saved myself a few bucks and an extra trip to the store. People complain all the time, they're allowed to, I understand that. As for GT6, I would love to see better engine sounds in game. I have to turn the already lowered music down to practically 0 just to hear anything except for the F1 car. AI is pretty bad still - glad to hear they're working on it. I also want them to bring back the wheel customization from 3 - wherein as a daily special you could get wheels from other cars. Occasionally I would get the baby moons and put them on something I liked. I've played the Driving Academy from the new one and thought that the physics and handling was better, but it really did feel more like an update than a complete standalone. I suppose we'll see when I get my hands on a copy! |

Doesnt the value of the system and games drop with the release of the new system? Doesnt really make sense to me when Forza has already moved on to the next gen system. Guess we will see how this turns out

More than likely this was supposed to be out before PS4, and was heavily delayed but it would cost too much to pivot to PS4. I mean we're talking about Gran Turismo here... There is definitely a bigger picture we're not seeing. We're only getting the "It's coming out December 6th for PS3" line out of Sony, but working in the electronics industry for 8+ years now, it's easy to figure out what is going on. It's all about recouping the costs.

I understand what your saying they probably have been working on this for awhile now but im sure the PS4 was no secret to Polyphony, and if its just about selling to a bigger base (70 million) which gran turismo 5 is at 10 million+ units sold to date on a 7+ year old system. I dont think sales will be as high IMO due to the PS4 release(and u say 1 million pre orders that number will double as it gets closer to release date then double again upon release) So now we wont see a PS4 version until its been out for atleast 4 years which is disapointing. Lets face it ive bought very few ps2 games after i bought the ps3 and some people upgrade and never look back.
