I might can make that one in between SEMA and PRI, I haven't been on RA since the early 90s before the dip was moved. You got a link? PM me with the specs on your car.

ANY damper curve dependent on the response time of the adjuster mechanism. I would love to see that data characterized here.

Look at the graphs at the beginning of this thread the red lines are the range that can be selected within 30ms. It can start out soft and ramp full hard based on sensors so in effect the curves can be resloped midway through a cycle as long as the spring has some travel. The higher the spring rate the quicker the damper change would be required to respond and at some point couldn't catch up. Not sure if that answered your question?

So full soft to full hard or full hard to full soft in 30msec? If so, then yes

Correct, you can modulate the valving while in a bump. It finally quit raining so if I can go play on some mountain roads I will post a data log of the current over g lat/log.

So these will not be coming with springs?
Would the stock springs be best, or will a set of aftermarket springs work as well? I am thinking the Bilstein Damptronics with Swift Sport Springs Spec-R springs, maybe? Ideas about the above combo vs. a set of Ohlins DFV Road & Track coil overs? Also, if using either stock or aftermarket springs (vs. coil overs), would these have more of a clearance issue when fitting wider rims/tires? Thanks in advance! |

The only issue with springs is the ID for a dust boot, other than that a 3" race spring will work. I will know more about the kit in a few weeks after my meetings with Bilstein on pricing and parts. Played in the mountains today and as soon as I can figure out how to get the data log on you tube I will add a link. For street tires The Scion springs feel about right don't know if they are the same as the Subaru, probably could use more front bar, managed to pull .8 lat gs at 35 mph in a set of switch backs being chased by a bike, need more power.

I'm so glad I stumbled onto this thread. Thank you for your work here. Very interested in this since i've been struggling with the search for street comfort while maintaining some sense of at least the stock sportiness and feedback. I've been thru 4 suspension setups already and i'm about to go back to stock entirely. Admittedly, I have not tried the high end, high dollar coilovers like Tein SRCs, JRZ R or RSs, Ohlins, etc...
A few questions please. 1. What happens if there is a failure in the electronics? What is the default "at rest" state of the damper? 2. It looks like you have some built-in height adjustability in the rears. How about the fronts? 3. Will Bilstein still honor the warranty like they do with their HD standard shocks? 4. Are the Bil shocks shorter than stock? Does it matter? 5. What do you reckon the useful life of these dampers before a rebuild is required assuming normal street conditions here in the US. |

These would be pretty cool with RCE Yellow springs....

2 I'm probably going to end up with stock spring height mounts with custom lowered versions, I don't want all the setup issues with adjustable mounts. 3 Will Bilstein still honor the warranty , More to come on that I would assume no because they are modified. 4 They are the same length on the rear as stock and 3" longer on the front but dropped in the mounts to stock length, see pictures. 5 Depends on abuse but shouldn't be any different than a standard Bilstein not rebuildable by consumer. Will follow this thread intently. Not sure about everyone else but a 20-25mm drop using the stock springs (in the interest of cutting down costs) would be ideal :happy0180: |

Swift Sport Springs Spec-R these convert to 221 and 165 rates. I didn't measure the rates on my Scion the web said 275lb per in on the Scion probably wouldn't want more than 350 on the street, are the Subaru BRZ different rates than the Scion?. I know I should know this I ass-u-me 275 and spent my time on the shock and controls. sure is a fun car my Porsche is getting mad I don't drive it anymore so it killed it's battery to get even. Anybody know how much torque the auto trans can hold?
