I take it your 177hp pull was on pump gas and your 198 pull was on E85?

Yes..there is a key at the top that have colors for each run. baseline/93/E85

The stock cat back isn't all that bad. I have this opinion by looking at how little after market cat-back actually free up.

Sure if you got a tune and a cat back you would see better gains. But you'd probably get pretty much the same with just the tune. Although, that point I'm more speculating about.

I'm questioning whether I'm going to put a cat back on, and I have a s/c.

I think the issue is the factory header is so restrictive that you don't see much gain by just doing a header back with the stock header. I have a feeling that if someone were to do just header and tune dyno, then add the rest of the exhaust there would be very noticeable gains with doing the header back section..

I will be testing the stock muffler vs my nameless axle back once my FA20 header shows up (next week i hope). Plan is to retune for the header do my finalized 4th gear pull, swap to the stock axleback then do another pull and see what i loose.

Catless header, nameless highflow catted over / front, with the nameless axleback I think is going to be too loud for me on cold starts, hence the reason for the test.

That will be very interesting to hear about actually. Don't think anyone done the comparison with just changing header alone.

Yeah, I am also going to do the first pull on the exact map i did my final pull from the last tune. So this will show gains strictly from the header with no re tune. Then i will re-tune. Lastly i will swap the stock muffler back on for one last pull.

All testing will be done on E85 but should be some good data regardless.

I stuck with the high flow catted front pipe and resonated catback to keep sound live able...it's actually awesome sounding as is but I wouldn't mind a little more noise

I have also read about clearance issues with aftermarket over pipes. If there is significant power to be found by replacing everything before the mid, which over pipe have we had success with?

Is the stock over pipe catted? Just want to confirm what I have researched, that we have three cats - header, over, front.

Thanks all.
Are you planning on keeping it N/A or going turbo in the future? I'm keeping N/A for right now, but turbo later (school comes first). The only thing is that, as of right now, all turbo kits come with their own manifolds so the UEL would have to come off. I'm actually about to get a Borla UEL soon

FA20club turbo kit is completely modular. You can buy their header and use it for n/a then convert to turbo when youd like. Not trying to sway you or anything just letting you know that option is out there.

Thanks for the option, but I'm buying a header from a member to help them with their upcoming goals. It's a low price for me, and it's win-win for both. Hopefully in the future, turbo kits will be able to adapt to other headers.

I'll keep it straight NA. I'm 90% certain I'm going with a Borla UEL, Perrin over and stock after that with a stage 2 tune. I'm hoping for 175-180whp and flat tq curve. That 30tq increase between 3000-4500 RPM will really transform the driving experience.

Maybe later when I want more sound ill go for the front pipe and a tame catback.
