Check with Bryan @Mr. Sparkle to see what he thinks. If memory serves correctly, you're not too far from his shop in West Babylon.

if your nail doesn't get caught in it it's a simple fix. Wet sand, paint evener, wax. The scratch X and products that claim to remove scratches are garbage imo.

Brought it to 2 shops and they both said it needs to be repainted. Luckily, her insurance is taking care of everything. Thanks again for all the help. Bringing it in Wednesday and will hopefully have it back sometime next week.

Shops...as in bodyshops, or detail shops? Just curious on who's selling the opinion. Not saying anyone is right/wrong since we're not there to touch/feel/see/etc in person...just curious.

Body shops. They both told me the same thing that there are some dents and a section where the paint is chipped off.

Good deal then. I was worried a body shop was just trying to get more work out of the situation than what was needed. Glad you got it figured out and her insurance is taking care of it.

Isn't that like leaving the scene of an accident?

She left a note so I don't believe so. She can't be expected to wait around until I get back and the damage wasn't bad enough to warrant calling the police over.

Didn't think about it that way. You may proceed.

Can't really tell what can or can't be buffed off there. Looks like scuffs / paint transfer which is a good thing. But it might be damage to the clear coat

My shop is in west babylon. I'd be happy to take a look if you like. Just give me a heads up on that.

and I'd be hesistant to compound that area if you don't know what you're doing. paint is thinnest at panel edges. Most of that damage is right along 2 raised edges
