You're posting in the wrong thread. Cricket noises have nothing to do with reliability.
What I've heard through Subaru channels is there is a new cricket fix that involves changes to the cam follower for the HPFP. The other option is to just cover the pump with a large amount of sound insulation like they did on the 2014 Forester DIT motor.

Had crickets fixed 5000 miles ago, haven't heard them since. My wife thinks she heard them once. Will let yall know if it comes back.
BTW fixed at Poway Toyota. |

I just had my pump done again today. Comparing the previous work order and this work order, the part numbers are the same but the description has changed. the service advisor told me he believes it to be a silent revision since the backorder was a month wait to every dealership in the area. No crickets yet, and i have put nearly 200 miles on the car since i picked it up. Last time, i had the crickets in less than 5 miles.

Mine went away at 4k miles. I'm at 5.5k now, don't hear it ever anymore.
