I used 93 equivalent fuel
I've got 22 whp gain and 20 nm torque gains.

We have almost the same mods, you have. FA20club tune

What is your take on my chart vs yours (1kw = 1.34whp)
Let me know if chart is inverted
It's hard to tell what's going on with your chart.. The TQ is scaled differently than the HP it seems and without your baseline to overlay its even harder to see where you made the most gains. What kind of dyno did you use?

This is sorta OT but no one has tried out the EL header + pump gas tune?

I know FT86speedfactory did a dyno with the EL but with no tune.

Robi did one with the EL but he tuned it on E85 and got 200 whp.

I'm also curious about the EL, would like to see how they handle the dip

@chadstyle
I have been using a Inertia Dyno. The graph layout is different.
The red line is my base run, black is mods and tune.
17kw gain = 23whp
Visconti tune and Borla seems to also give strong mid torque gains too.

Update:

A customer just sent me a picture of their Borla UEL header cracked before the collector. We'll probably get that one warrantied out, but he's going to be purchasing a different brand this time around.

Major mods to note about his vehicle - Vortech kit.

I'll be checking ours regularly now.

Another Borla header QC failure. Not surprised.

I thought the warped flanges were bad, but these weld failures at the collector seem like the final nail in the Borla coffin.

Is that @F1point4 's out of curiousity?

You're correct. Pretty sad.

A one million mile warranty is one thing, but it still should not be on the consumer to have to install, uninstall, return, rinse, and repeat.

There's no guarantee this will be happening to every vehicle. When I leave work in the late afternoon my thermometer says about 105. Plus we do have superchargers.

However, I'm pulling this product from the site.

Was this recently failed header from a "new" one or one of the first runs?

It was probably toward the end of the initial 30 we sold. After the negative publicity with the flanges, sales took a huge downward turn. Also I didn't try to push the header on anyone and gave honest feedback, both personal and observed.

According to e-mails between customers and Borla which I was CCd the biggest issue of course were the warped flanges. People had mentioned that the welds appeared sloppy on the inside of the collector, but Borla never addressed that directly in the correspondence I read.

Yes that one is mine. Just a few things, I put 6000 miles and one track day on this header since I purchased it. It is only 5 months old. I think the track day made the weld crack. A local fabricator told me the pipe is cracked all the way around.

Two things clued me in to something was wrong. There was a vibration that was resonating throughout the car when I started her. I thought it was the metal engine pan, but it was definitely the pipe coming off the cracked weld on the collector.

The other was that my wideband AFR gauge was telling me I was lean. Logically to me this means my primary O2 was reading the same and making the car run rich. Not the worst problem to have, but my fuel trims are probably jacked and I shouldn't push the car while I have this header.

--
It is a bit disappointing to see a part fail, but I am confident Borla will warranty this piece. For this car I am an early adopter of most everything and this part is no different; I got one of the first ones. Hopefully their QC is better in the subsequent batches.

I opted not to get this fixed because the other welds may break in a similar fashion. In addition, I can't be sure the replacement won't suffer the same fate. Things are coming up in my life and I can't be constantly be pulling headers for warranty. Need my car to work like a champ. Therefore I opted to purchase a different header from another manufacturer as Chris mentioned.

Must pay to play. It is what it is.
