So you're saying a car caught fire with this kit on it, and then Visconti released the kit three days later? If a car caught fire with a kit I made, then I probably wouldn't ship 40 of them out to customers 3 days later. So he did actually release the original kit knowing it might cause fires. Might have been prudent to delay launch of the kit, if CARS CATCH ON FIRE.

After the leak was discovered and after this car burned down (Mind you, the cause of fire of this car is still unknown it might have been the leak but it might have not), John released a revised version of the kit, with a different hose connection. Customers needed to pay shipping money to get this upgrade (that helped remove the possibility of a fuel leak inside the engine bay) and were given no instructions on how to install them for a few good days... I think there are still no instructions on how to install the upgraded kit.

I accept the fact that when modifying my car something can go wrong... but wrong as in "slightly different than expected"... Like not quite as good, better than anticipated, poor customer service.
However, if the car is destroyed. The person who had it (or was working on it) when it was destroyed will be replacing it, or their insurance will or... they will be needing legal representation. That's it.

I think one point that has been kind of missing here is that there is another responsible party here.
Don from Accelerated Performance did the install, so at least they are both partly responsible for the modifications that were done on this car.

Read my post @Toma, I DIDNT say they were responsible for the fire, I said they were responsible for the MODIFICATIONS done to the car.

I'm so glad I didn't buy Visconti's FF kit when it first came out. Especially since one of the selling points was that it was supposed to be basically a plug-and-play/bolt-on kit. Now in addition to the fuel leak and possible fire issue the fix requires a tubing cutter, something that I'm guessing isn't reversible if you need to return to stock.
