I'm sure there are a good portion of folks who are on the bandwagon, but there are just as many who are aware (perhaps first hand) of the skeletons in John's closet.
Shops usually just exercise professional courtesy and don't start talking about it publicly when issues arise. All tuners (good ones) have blown up cars, usually it is just at the beginning of their career, and not after they have proclaimed themselves master tuners. Ahh, actually you get that title just for buying 10+ kits --- good qualification program EcuTek. |

Parts change, yes I agree 1000% One more time, when you are providing a newer part because the original one LEAKS FUEL, which is a safety concern and can set a car on fire, the least the vendor can do is provide a free fix, not charge for the upgrade. Now go and read, there are detailed explanations on the leaks.

they have ADMITTED to a problem by providing a fix. if no problem existed then no need for a fix.

That's a joke BTW.Someone has to foot the bills ![]() It's the same with magazines. The cover price doesn't even cover costs, it's advertising, and why many articles are Vendor biased. |

It seems to me there are two discussions going on here. People pissed about a leaky fuel kit, and people concerned for the OP losing his car to a fire. Both very important and relevant topics but as of right now there is no evidence to link them other then suspicion. Just like the world being flat.
One somewhat relevant comment that I can ad is that I run a manufacturing business and I remember when I applied for my insurance the insurance company asked me for examples and proof of how I would handle a product recall. They would not issue me insurance unless they were satisfied at how I kept track of who bought what and how they would be contacted in case of a problem.

OP.. I am so sorry man..that hurts to see. I would be totally heartbroken to get that call and then see the car. What a total bummer. Hope you get everything worked out and you don't take a major hit financially or on your insurance.

Dont want to read it, then dont question the facts I've written. No one read it for me and gave me a summary, I read it all. As easy as readying the last couple of pages but trollers are lazy like that.

@BRZtubro, my deepest sympathy for your loss. Hopefully there's a favourable outcome to the investigation.
@Toma, for your information there are 8 people that have spoken up about the fuel leak on the FF kit. 1 of the 8 had recurring fuel smell which was taken care of by double clamping the incorrectly sized hose. There could be others that have not been documented. While I agree finger pointing without concrete proof is a futile gesture, nobody should deny the absolute clusterfuck John & Rich have done with the FF kit to date. If you haven't already, just take a look through my posts for all the heated exchanges I've had with them. John and Rich still vehemently deny that their kit is anything but safe. I've been reasonable from the start (safety upgrades/improvements to the kit that will make it sell better in the future should be free of charge to the guinea pigs i.e. the first adopters of the FF kit) but after numerous brush offs and now stonewalling, I'll do everything I can to let others know never do business with them. |

I wasted my time, read one of the links, and the one guy that was worried about the wrong size hose being supplied, and clearly stated he was a NON US Customer, and had different factory lines. How much more do I have to read to find HOW MANY KITS ACTUALLY LEAKED? Why is that so hard for a guy spouting "facts"? |
