Oh that's why, lol. I have 5000k HIDs. Mine is crisp because I removed the squirrel finders, but if you want to see real crisp, you retrofit your headlights. Check these out (see attached).

This, the inside is painted. Oddly enough this was easier to do than my spring swap. Spring swap was easy too, but pulling the lights apart was a 10 on the nerve racking scale. Springs were a 2.

In reguards to your cut off height: You should park the car on a flat level surface 25 feet from a wall. Your cut off should be 2 feet from the ground. It may have gotten out of alignment during removal and reinstallation of your headlights
