DI issue makes me want to sell sell sell. I have no problems yet but I don't want any either.

The only thing that will change my mind is an official acknowledgement from Toyota with corrective action taken.

I would never buy this car used. Alot of damage can be done on the engine in the first 10 months. I prefer to just to buy new and know what has been done to it

Even more if you're out in the middle of nowhere with a girl beside you.

I'd buy used with a really good deal.

It'd better be a really good deal at this point though.

I bought used. No regrets yet. Don't suspect I'll have any, either.

That may be, but it's still very different. It's just a surprising train of thought.

I want a sports car.

True. If I had $45k(just going off of MSRP, not taking into account the depreciation on the BRZ/FRS) to spend on a car, I'm not sure I'd look at one of the Twins. Not sure what I'd look at new at that price point, really. For a sports car. BMW? Vette?

I'd spend $10k on a civic/corolla/whatever and buy an NSX, Elise, or a v8 RX7, most likely.

I'm contemplating getting rid of this car for reliability issues. My transmission is grinding, I'm getting crickets, the DI is failing in other cars, and now my axle is clicking which mean it will break soon. I came from a 98 GS400 and an 02 SC430. Both had WELL over 100k miles and had no problems with either. Granted, they were much more expensive when they were sold, but this is a Toyota. You'd think, even with Subaru doing most the driveline, that Toyota would make sure everything was reliable. I'm sick of having problems with a brand new car. I hate making payments on this car when it is not right.

I can't tell you why people are selling theirs, but I can tell you why I haven't bought one yet.

I have enough cash to buy one out right, but I already have a quick, fun, slow car. I've been driving my quick, fun, slow car for over seven years. I love everything about the twins, but at this point in my life I'm done with modding. I want a quick, fun, fast car with a warranty.

There still isn't anything like that for me out there yet though. If the in house tuner groups did some kind of FI and factory brake upgrade one will be in my garage tomorrow.

If I bought one right away I know I would have eventually become disappointed and tried to sell it for something else.

Not going to lie, if the 2015 rumors are true, I may very well do away with mine.

I am right there with you. My current BRZ will be paid off in less than two years, so I will wait about a year or so and drive with no payments so I can put a nice chunk down.

Mine has 20k+ in less then a year.. I drive it, been from SoCal to Texas once, SoCal to Laguna Seca to watch races, and back and forth from Vegas to SoCal.. A lot.. And I work 70mile round trip from home.. Just because lots of miles doesn't mean used and abused.. Just used lol.. No reason to buy a car and keep it in a garage.. I buy to drive..

That said I don't have any issues, but the ECU replacement.. Every once in awhile a cricket will pop up..

I am not going to lie. I bought this car because of all the hype behind it. I have been driving a 2005 Scion tC since it was brand new and has not been in the shop for anything. Except for the TRD SC replacement (thank God for the warranty). It has 83k on it and still going strong. Should have just kept the car and waited to see how everything turned out. It was tough to pass up that my bro got me a TMMK discount on top of the discount from recently graduating from grad school. Oh well, I do enjoy the FRS. I look at it as something that keeps miles off of my tC and the tC keeps miles off of my FRS. My FRS has been running just fine thus far. It's all good that the car may not live up to our expectations. Thus the freedom to sale it. Yet I would hold onto it for at least 3 more years to get some more use out of it. I would sale mine right now if I would not lose 3-5k.

Another for the 'baby' category. I traded mine in yesterday (had it since last July, 8500 miles, got 22k for it) on a new Tahoe.

It is sooo pretty though.

(pardon the disastrously messy garage)

I was just shopping for an every-day driver for my wife. At a local CarMax (shudder) location, they had 7 used FR-S and 2 used BRZ for sale.

So many... my jaw dropped.
