Why are people selling their cars?

If you look in the member classified's section, you'll notice lots of people selling off parts to return their cars to stock for sale.

So my question is...why do you think a sizable number of people are selling their cars off?

They want the series ten or 2014 since the only difference in 2014 will be the radio and that's so worh it

There are some really nice examples. STX and Track prepped cars, there's one with the full Rocket Bunny treatment. Some really great deals to be had...

I'd say you missed the biggest one - external factors and change of circumstances, e.g. new baby, lost job, moved elsewhere, disapproval from wife etc etc.

Because of the DI issue, surely that's where this thread is going :scared0016:

Luis_GT 08-07-2013 11:51 PM

Because they can

If it has the bunny kit, it means the car has been sliced and diced

That's the #1 issue with that body kit, its irreversible. I also worry about rust developing along the cuts in the sheet metal.

I just looked at classifies. The hot lava seller I don't know something must be wrong with it to want to sell for that price. All others were mainly MT high mileage in such a short time frame. Which to me means it was used and abused. And it's mostly whiteout frs on sell.

I am guessing the most common issue is people buying a car they cannot afford. This car is going to attract lots of young guys who don't understand finances.

I was one of those once myself many years ago...

BlueDubbinTDI 08-08-2013 12:13 AM

Probably the speed factor everyone complains about. This car just isn't fast enough...pretty sure 90% of us guys still NA feel that way. I personally find that this will be my first true project car. 5, 10, 15 years idk how long it'll last. I just know I want to make mine a lotus quality track machine however long it takes.

DAEMANO 08-08-2013 12:16 AM

Gonna go with mostly a financial issue. Not a bad thing, just happens. I love mine, but really does this matter at all?

Wouldnt a claybar + paint prevent that from happening?
