Yeah I seen crawfords. Just wanted to know if there was a way to do this without building the bottom and top end of the engine. Guess you do have to blueprint it... I'm trying to get as much research done as I can so i can have an idea as to which route I would like to go when I pull the trigger on purchasing an FRS.

If you throw a tiny ass turbo on this motor and run tons of boost you will get that high peak torque value when boost hits that Crawford got but you won't maintain that torque across any kind of rpm range. I will take a properly sized turbo and a more linear horsepower curve to 8000 rpm.

Also remember our compression ratio is much different than an Evo or the Crawford car.

Yes, sorry I gave out a sleepy answer. Compression ratio, turbo zise and engine size all play a part on how TQ is made and how high it goes.
@King Tut explained it well. A tiny turbo will get you WTQ numbers close to WHP but remember the only thing that tells you is that the car hits Peak torque early, and dies off at the end.

Horsepower is a function of Torque x RPM. To make more power you can either have more torque at a given RPM or the same torque at a higher rpm.

Say you have a big V8 with a 5k redline and makes 400ft lbs of torque @ 5krpm. Using the proper equation we get 400ftlbs * 5000rpm / 5750 (constant in the calculation) = 347hp

Now say you have a high revving engine that makes power much higher in the rpm band. Lets say a s2000 with 250ftlbs @ 8000rpm. If we calculate the power now we have 250ftlbs*8000rpm/5750 = 347hp.

The same horsepower but vastly different torque. Its all about where you make your power.

From what i've heard Crawford only changed to low comp pistons, rods and stiffer vavle springs (10% stiffer). I also think that how you tune the ecu would also play a role on how the hp/tq output is gonna be. Just a speculation.
