My '87 911 is just as much fun to drive as the FR-S, has more power, and the steering is lighter and has more feel. It weighs about 100lbs less, and gets better or equal mpg. That being said, it shifts worse, has a stiffer clutch, and no A/C. At the end of the day, the Porsche is still a great car, and I hope the FR-S entertains me as long, and as well. Of course, the 911 was about $34K in '87, and was hand-built. Oranges and apples, I guess. I'm quite happy with the FR-S, for what it is, and can become.

Our other vehicle is a 2013 Honda Odyssey Touring model... Night and day difference between the BRZ and really makes me appreciate my car that much more for what it is.

But the Honda is a heck of a lot easier to carry people in

My backup car is a 1995 Toyota Avalon. It gets the job done when my FR-S is in the shop, but I always worry about falling asleep at the wheel driving it...

Meh, cars are different. If you focus on their weaknesses you gonna have a bad time.
When I get into my STI I'm not trying to mentally compare the steering weight or the precision. I get into it to enjoy the turbo rush and the ability to step on the gas mid-corner and feel the diffs engage and wrestle the car's weight around. When I get into my wife's Impreza I set myself to enjoy the smooth ride and half-decent noise insulation. If you have a second car that you enjoy absolutely nothing about - idk, get something else.

My previous car (and now DD) is an '06 Impreza wagon. I used to think it was fairly sporty. Now, not so much. There's still a lot I like about it, but what I once thought was great and responsive steering now feels.....floaty. I do still love the car. It's actually why I have the FR-S and not a '14 Forester XT. We figured a 3rd vehicle would come in handy plus our love of the Impreza (my wife's first brand new car).

Her daily is a 2010 Forester Limited. Someone else stated it perfectly talking about their MDX. The Forester feels like a hovercraft. I am not used to not feeling anything. Impreza is smoother than FR-S, but my god is it weird driving something that truly seems to float over the road.

The old Accord was spot on.

Agreed. I had a '90 LX coupe with a 5 speed and a '92 SE sedan. Both great cars! Probably my all time favorite Accord body style (although the latest coupes are pretty sharp).

I have no real complaints about my FR-S, but no one does ergonomics better than Honda, IMHO. Everything is right where it should be (see FR-S cruise control stalk...) and feels just like it should, with a solid mechanical click, but never too stiff (see FR-S ventilation selector...).

Don't get me wrong, I love my FR-S, but you've got to give credit where credit is due, and Honda does some things better than anyone else. Styling just hasn't been one of them lately. If they still produced an S2K or even a Prelude, I'd probably be driving that now rather than my Scion.

The FRS is more fun with corners and space, so for me I rather just drive a 4 door as a daily within the city.
That's how I feel too. The car is great when I'm taking highway onramps much faster than I should be, but I live in a city where 99% of the roads are straight lines. I've taken this car to the track and man it was so fun, but this car is not exciting at all when it's going straight.

Technically on ice it's TRYING to go straight, not actually going straight lol.

I have to admit, it was fun in the winter sometimes. But other times it would get stuck because of low ground clearance and then suddenly not fun anymore.
